What MagiCal Is

TechnaFlora MagiCal is a liquid calcium-magnesium-iron supplement with an NPK of 2-0-0. The guaranteed analysis breaks down to 3.25% calcium, 1.25% magnesium, and 0.11% chelated iron (Fe-EDTA). Nitrogen comes entirely as nitrate — 2% total nitrate nitrogen — which keeps the formula compatible with aggressive feed programs without spiking ammoniacal N.

The source ingredients are calcium nitrate, calcium chloride, magnesium nitrate, and iron EDTA. The chelated iron form ensures Fe remains plant-available across the pH ranges typical of hydroponic and coco systems (5.5–6.5), rather than precipitating out as happens with non-chelated iron sources. The product is fully water-soluble and sediment-free, mixing cleanly into any reservoir or hand-mix solution.

Ca-Mg deficiency is one of the most common yield-limiting problems in commercial cannabis — particularly in coco coir, RO-fed hydro systems, and high-EC drain-to-waste setups where calcium and magnesium are not contributed by the water source. MagiCal is a straightforward, clean-label fix: it runs as a supplement alongside any base nutrient line through vegetative and flower, and can be bumped up in concentration when deficiency symptoms appear.

Application Rates and System Compatibility

Standard maintenance rates are approximately 1 tsp (5 ml) per gallon in soil systems and 1–2 tsp (5–10 ml) per gallon in hydroponic nutrient solution. For active deficiency correction, rates can be increased — TechnaFlora's guidance references up to 15 ml per gallon as an in-between-feed dose when a ca-mg shortfall needs to be addressed quickly. Always adjust EC and monitor runoff pH when modifying application rates.

MagiCal is compatible with soil, coco coir, rockwool, DWC, NFT, ebb-and-flow, and drain-to-waste drip systems.
