Concentrated liquid Ca-Mg-Fe supplement — corrects deficiencies fast, compatible with any nutrient line.
TechnaFlora MagiCal is a highly concentrated liquid blend of calcium (3.25%), magnesium (1.25%), and chelated iron (0.11%) formulated to correct and prevent deficiencies throughout the entire crop cycle. Completely water-soluble with zero sediment — drops into any reservoir or mix tank cleanly and is immediately plant-available.
TechnaFlora MagiCal is a professional-grade liquid calcium, magnesium, and iron supplement with an NPK of 2-0-0. Each liter delivers 3.25% calcium, 1.25% magnesium, and 0.11% chelated iron (Iron EDTA), derived from Calcium Nitrate, Calcium Chloride, Magnesium Nitrate, and Iron EDTA. The liquid is clear, fully soluble, and chemically stable — it mixes into any reservoir without clouding or settling, and nutrients are immediately available for plant uptake.
The 10-liter format is the production-scale option in the MagiCal lineup, designed for cultivation operations that run Cal-Mag supplementation continuously through their feed programs rather than as an occasional correction. At commercial application rates, a 10L jug covers significant reservoir volume before restocking is needed.
Any licensed cannabis or hemp facility running coco coir, rockwool, deep water culture, NFT, or high-frequency fertigation in perlite is a candidate for standing MagiCal supplementation. Calcium and magnesium are the two most commonly deficient secondary macronutrients in indoor production — soft or RO-filtered source water pulls their baseline concentrations down to near zero, and high-transpiration canopies in flower push demand even higher.
MagiCal is also specified by operators who run base nutrients from any manufacturer — TechnaFlora's own B.C. line, or any third-party nutrient brand. It is designed to complement, not compete with, whatever base program is already in place. Facilities dealing with recurring tip burn, interveinal chlorosis, blossom-end softening, or irregular bud density are the primary use case.
Calcium is a structural nutrient — it locks into cell walls and directly controls cell integrity, which is why calcium deficiency shows up as tip burn in veg and soft, loose bud structure in late flower. Magnesium is the central atom in every chlorophyll molecule; without adequate Mg, photosynthetic efficiency drops and lower-canopy leaves yellow prematurely. Iron, chelated as EDTA for stability across a wide pH range, supports enzyme function and chlorophyll synthesis.
Beyond deficiency correction, MagiCal supports protein synthesis, helps maintain starch content in developing fruit, and accelerates production of essential oils in flowering plants — all functions that contribute directly to density and terpene profile in a harvested cannabis crop. Running it proactively through bloom, rather than waiting for visible symptoms, is standard practice in high-performing facilities.
MagiCal is designed as a perpetual program supplement, not a spot treatment. For soil and soilless media, the standard rate is approximately 1 tsp (5 mL) per gallon of feed water; for hydroponic reservoirs, 1–2 tsp per gallon depending on source water hardness and base nutrient calcium contribution. For accelerated deficiency correction, rates can be temporarily increased. TechnaFlora's own feeding schedule also references 3 mL per liter when used alongside their Pura Vida base.
Storage is straightforward: cool, dark room, sealed container, shaken before each batch. Mixed nutrient solution should be used promptly; pre-mixing large batches of Cal-Mag ahead of schedule is not recommended. The 10L size reduces per-liter cost and restocking frequency for facilities running daily or twice-daily fertigation — a practical consideration in high-canopy-count operations where small logistical inefficiencies compound quickly.

MagiCal is formulated to work with any base nutrient program. TechnaFlora confirms that MagiCal and their other supplements complement all major brands of base fertilizers — it is not exclusive to the TechnaFlora Recipe for Success system.
That depends on your base nutrient's existing calcium contribution and your target EC. At 1–2 tsp per gallon, MagiCal adds meaningful Ca and Mg to the reservoir. Many RO-fed facilities find it sufficient when stacked with a calcium-rich base; others with very high transpiration rates or aggressive feeding programs use a standalone calcium nitrate top-up alongside it. Run a nutrient analysis or tissue test if you're calibrating precisely.
Common calcium deficiency presentations include leaf tip burn, necrotic leaf margins, and soft or underdeveloped bud structure in late flower. Magnesium deficiency typically presents as interveinal chlorosis (yellowing between leaf veins) starting on older, lower leaves. Stem brittleness and slow recovery after transplant can also indicate combined Ca/Mg shortfall. Iron deficiency shows as yellowing on new growth at the shoot tips.
Yes, the formulation is identical across all MagiCal sizes (1L, 4L, 10L, 20L). The 10L is simply the production-scale volume, reducing per-liter cost and restocking frequency compared to the 4L for facilities that run Cal-Mag supplementation on every feed.
Yes, MagiCal is chemically stable and mixes cleanly into nutrient solutions without precipitating. As a general best practice in any multi-part nutrient program, add supplements one at a time, mixing and checking pH/EC between additions. If running TechnaFlora's B.C. line, B.C. Boost should be added to the reservoir first per TechnaFlora's own mixing guidance, as it contains high levels of calcium and iron.
