Can MagiCal be used with our existing base nutrient brand, or only with TechnaFlora's B.C. line?

MagiCal is formulated to work with any base nutrient program. TechnaFlora confirms that MagiCal and their other supplements complement all major brands of base fertilizers — it is not exclusive to the TechnaFlora Recipe for Success system.

We run RO water with very low baseline calcium. Is MagiCal enough to hit target Ca/Mg, or do we need additional calcium supplementation?

That depends on your base nutrient's existing calcium contribution and your target EC. At 1–2 tsp per gallon, MagiCal adds meaningful Ca and Mg to the reservoir. Many RO-fed facilities find it sufficient when stacked with a calcium-rich base; others with very high transpiration rates or aggressive feeding programs use a standalone calcium nitrate top-up alongside it. Run a nutrient analysis or tissue test if you're calibrating precisely.

What deficiency symptoms indicate that MagiCal supplementation should be started or increased?

Common calcium deficiency presentations include leaf tip burn, necrotic leaf margins, and soft or underdeveloped bud structure in late flower. Magnesium deficiency typically presents as interveinal chlorosis (yellowing between leaf veins) starting on older, lower leaves. Can MagiCal be added to the reservoir at the same time as other nutrients?
