What the AMP-3 Does

The AMP-3 is the sensor-to-controller bridge in TrolMaster's Aqua-X Pro ecosystem. It accepts a pH probe via BNC terminal and an EC/temperature probe via Mini DIN terminal, then communicates all three readings to the NFS-2 Aqua-X Pro master controller over a standard RJ12 cable via the controller's System terminal. Once live, pH level, EC/PPM, and water temperature are displayed simultaneously on the AMP-3's onboard LCD screen and on the NFS-2 master controller screen — giving you a local readout at the reservoir and a central readout at the panel.

This dual-display architecture matters in larger facilities where reservoirs or dosing systems are spread across the floor. Staff can verify readings at the tank without walking back to the controller, and the cultivation manager can see all zone data from the NFS-2 interface or remotely via the TrolMaster TM+ app.

The board includes an addressing key that allows each unit to be uniquely identified by the NFS-2, enabling the controller to differentiate readings across all connected boards in a multi-tank setup.

Installation is plug-and-play. The package includes one sensor board, a 16 ft RJ12 cable, a 4 ft RJ12 cable, and a T-shaped splitter for daisy-chain or branched wiring runs. Boards can be daisy-chained or connected through a TrolMaster SPH-1 8-port hub to keep wiring organized. There is no practical limit on cable run distance between the AMP-3 and the NFS-2 host controller, giving installers flexibility in where sensors are physically mounted relative to the panel.

In a commercial cultivation build, the NFS-2 is the irrigation brain — controlling up to 300 pumps and 300 solenoids, scheduling unlimited daily irrigation events per zone, and triggering feed-on-demand or feed-by-volume events based on sensor feedback.
