The AI3801 bundles three instruments from Apera's 60 Series Premium line into a single kit: the PH60 pocket pH tester, the EC60 conductivity/TDS/salinity tester, and the ORP60 redox tester. Each meter is a standalone, self-contained unit rated IP67 — fully waterproof and dustproof — so they float if dropped in a reservoir and hold up in a wet grow environment without babying.
The PH60 reads pH from -2.00 to 16.00 with ±0.01 accuracy and auto-recognizes five buffer types (1.68, 4.00, 7.00, 10.01, 12.45) for 1–3 point calibration. The EC60 switches one-tap between EC, TDS, and salinity with a customizable TDS conversion factor (0.40–1.00) to match your preferred reporting standard. The ORP60 covers -1000 to +1000 mV at 1 mV resolution, calibrated against the included 222 mV standard solution. All three share the same dual-display LCD format with three-color backlighting: blue for measurement mode, green for calibration mode, and red for out-of-range warnings.

Dedicated single-parameter meters are easier to calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot. If one meter needs service or a probe swap, the other two remain in service — no single point of failure across your testing workflow. Combination probes that measure pH and EC from the same tip can suffer from cross-parameter interference and typically have shorter probe lifespans than dedicated sensors.
Probe life depends heavily on use frequency, solution chemistry, and proper storage. Apera warrants probes for 6 months from delivery. In a high-frequency commercial setting, many operators plan annual probe replacement as routine maintenance. Because the probes are field-swappable on all three meters in this kit, replacement is a 60-second operation and does not require returning the meter body.
ORP (oxidation-reduction potential) measures how oxidizing or reducing your water solution is. In cultivation, it's most directly useful for facilities running ozone, chlorine dioxide, or UV sanitation on recirculating water — ORP tells you whether your disinfection system is maintaining effective oxidation levels. Positive ORP values indicate oxidizing conditions; negative values indicate reducing conditions. It's also a useful early indicator of reservoir contamination or anaerobic conditions in root zones.
