The Apera PC400S is a portable, handheld multiparameter meter that simultaneously measures six water quality parameters: pH, electrical conductivity (EC), total dissolved solids (TDS), salinity, resistivity, and temperature. It ships as a complete kit under SKU AI423, including the 201T-S 3-in-1 pH/temperature combination electrode, the BPB (Brush-Resistant Platinum Black) 2301T-S conductivity/temperature electrode, a USB cable, PC-Link software for Windows, and six pre-mixed calibration solution bottles — all packed in a rugged carrying case.
The meter is powered by four AA batteries and can also receive power via the USB connection, giving operators flexibility for bench use or continuous monitoring setups. The large backlit LCD displays pH or EC alongside temperature simultaneously, with on-screen icons that confirm reading stability and completed calibration status — no guessing whether the reading has settled.

A calibration reminder function alerts the operator when recalibration is due, and the Smart Self-Diagnosis function identifies common calibration errors and guides correction before a bad reading is logged. The electrode slope is displayed after multi-point calibration, giving a direct read on probe health without needing a separate diagnostic tool.
On the conductivity side, the BPB platinum black sensor covers a full 0 to 200 mS/cm range at ±1% F.S. accuracy with single-tap switching between EC, TDS, salinity, and resistivity modes. Automatic temperature compensation (ATC) runs across the full 0–100°C range via the integrated sensors on both electrodes, so readings stay accurate regardless of solution temperature — relevant when measuring warm reservoir water or comparing samples taken at different times of day.
Purified water and ammonia-added purified water measuring modes are also available, adding utility for operators running RO or deionized source water in their feed programs.
