Lab-grade pH measurement in high-temperature and corrosive solutions — field-ready, IP67-rated.
The Apera PH60-HT (AI3731) pairs the professional PH60 meter body with the Swiss-engineered LabSen 865 pH/temperature electrode, delivering ±0.01 pH accuracy in high-temperature and caustic water solutions where standard electrodes fail. Ships as a complete, ready-to-use kit with calibration buffers, soaking solution, CalPod organizer, and rugged carry case.
The PH60-HT is a complete handheld pH measurement kit built specifically for environments that destroy conventional electrodes: high-temperature process water, caustic cleaning solutions, electroplating baths, and other chemically aggressive liquids. The kit centers on two purpose-matched components — Apera's proven PH60 meter body and the Swiss LabSen 865 glass-body pH/temperature electrode.
The LabSen 865 electrode is rated across a temperature range of 0–130°C and uses a specialized PHY glass membrane — the most chemically robust membrane in the LabSen series — along with a PTFE anti-clogging junction that resists junction fouling from complex or caustic liquids. The built-in Silver Ion Trap reference system outperforms standard Ag/AgCl references by maintaining reference potential stability over time and significantly extending electrode service life.
The PH60 meter body itself is IP67-rated, auto-calibrates up to 3 points (pH 4.00 / 7.00 / 10.01) with automatic buffer recognition, and provides automatic temperature compensation (ATC) across 0–50°C. The full pH measurement range spans −2.00 to 16.00, covering virtually any aqueous solution encountered in commercial or industrial settings.
Any licensed cultivation or processing operation that works with heated nutrient reservoirs, hot water sanitation loops, or caustic cleaning agents (CIP/SIP cycles, alkaline sanitizers) needs a pH tool rated for those conditions. Standard consumer or general-purpose probes degrade rapidly in high-temp or corrosive environments — junctions clog, reference potential drifts, and readings become unreliable.
The PH60-HT is equally suited to extraction and post-processing labs handling caustic solvents or aggressive water-based process fluids. Industrial hemp and cannabis processors running continuous water treatment, decarboxylation tank monitoring, or sanitization validation will get stable, trustworthy readings where other testers fail.
The LabSen 865 electrode also performs reliably in general aqueous solutions, so one kit can serve both the demanding use cases and routine pH checks on nutrient solutions, RO water, or irrigation feeds — giving a facility a single professional-grade tool across multiple tasks.
PHY Glass Membrane: The PHY formulation is the most chemically resistant membrane in Apera's LabSen line, rated for continuous use in corrosive conditions and temperatures up to 130°C. Apera states the membrane is approximately 10 times stronger than traditional glass membranes, which directly translates to longer electrode service life in demanding environments.
PTFE Anti-Clogging Junction: Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) ring junction prevents junction clogging caused by complex chemical matrices. Standard ceramic or fiber junctions foul quickly in caustic or contaminated liquids; the PTFE junction maintains stable electrolyte flow and reference potential.
Silver Ion Trap Reference System: Replaces conventional Ag/AgCl systems. By trapping silver ions before they can interact with the sample, the reference system maintains a stable potential over time and eliminates a primary cause of junction clogging and reference drift — the two most common failure modes for electrodes used in industrial or high-temp applications.
Intelligent Meter Functions: The PH60 meter body supports automatic calibration with recognition of 5 buffer types (pH 1.68, 4.00, 7.00, 10.01, 12.45), automatic reading lock (HOLD), configurable reading alarm limits with backlight color alerts (blue = measuring, green = calibrating, red = out-of-range), and an auto power-off after 8 minutes without operation. Battery life on the standard AAA cells is rated up to approximately 2,000 hours.
The PH60-HT ships as a complete, field-ready kit. Included: the PH60 meter body with installed LabSen 865 electrode, premixed calibration buffer solutions (pH 4.00 / 7.00 / 10.01), electrode soaking solution, Apera CalPod Solution Organizer (keeps calibration bottles organized and accessible during field calibration), AAA batteries, and a rugged carry case for transport between rooms or between facilities.
For operations with multiple grow rooms or processing areas, the kit format means a single technician can carry everything needed to perform a verified, 3-point calibration and take accurate readings across an entire facility visit — no separate sourcing of buffers or accessories. The CalPod organizer specifically reduces calibration errors caused by mislabeled or contaminated buffer bottles.
Electrode replacement is straightforward — the LabSen 865 uses an 8-pin connector compatible with the PH60 and PH60-Z meter bodies as well as other Apera meters with 8-pin sockets. Replacement electrodes can be ordered independently, keeping the meter body in service long-term. Apera covers the instrument with a 2-year warranty and the electrode with a 6-month warranty from delivery.

Standard glass membranes and ceramic/fiber junctions are not engineered for sustained exposure to high temperatures or corrosive chemistry. In those conditions, conventional electrodes experience accelerated membrane degradation, junction clogging from chemical fouling, and reference potential drift — all of which produce unstable or inaccurate readings. The LabSen 865's PHY membrane is rated to 130°C and its PTFE junction resists clogging in caustic matrices, maintaining measurement integrity where standard probes fail.
Yes. The LabSen 865 electrode performs reliably in general aqueous solutions in addition to its high-temp and caustic-rated applications. The PH60 meter body covers −2.00 to 16.00 pH with ±0.01 accuracy, making the kit suitable for nutrient solution checks, RO or irrigation water verification, and other routine monitoring tasks — not just demanding industrial use cases.
The PH60 meter automatically recognizes five standard buffer types and supports up to 3-point calibration (pH 4.00 / 7.00 / 10.01). In commercial cultivation or processing environments, a 2-point calibration (pH 4.00 and 7.00) performed at each measurement session — or at minimum daily — is standard practice. The included CalPod organizer keeps buffer solutions organized and reduces the risk of cross-contamination between calibration bottles during field use.
Yes. The LabSen 865 uses an 8-pin connector and is compatible with Apera pocket testers equipped with an 8-pin socket (including the PH60 and PH60-Z) as well as Apera bench meters with 8-pin connectors such as the PH400, PC400, PH400S, PC400S, SX751, and SX736. Replacement electrodes can be ordered separately to extend the service life of the meter body. Note: the thermistor may not be compatible with third-party meters.
Apera covers the PH60 instrument body for 2 years and the LabSen 865 electrode for 6 months from delivery, against defects in materials and workmanship. The electrode warranty period reflects the consumable nature of pH electrodes, particularly in demanding chemical environments. Replacement electrodes are available as a standalone item through HSC.
