What the LMA-11 Does

The LMA-11 is a lighting control adapter built specifically for the TrolMaster Hydro-X ecosystem. Its job is to translate the Hydro-X's digital control signal into the 0–11.5V analog signal that Phantom LP ballasts and Phantom 60 Series fixtures expect on their low-voltage control port. Without this adapter, integrating Phantom HID hardware into a TrolMaster-automated room requires manual intervention at the ballast — defeating the point of centralized environmental control.

The adapter is compact and passive in-line hardware. It connects to the Hydro-X via a standard RJ12 cable (a 0.6 ft pigtail is included) and outputs to the Phantom ballast's control input. An onboard LED power indicator confirms the adapter is live so you can verify signal continuity at a glance without pulling up the controller interface.

Important compatibility note: the LMA-11 is designed for Phantom LP and Phantom 60 Series ballasts only. It is not compatible with RS-485 digital protocol fixtures, including Phantom 40 and 50 Series. Two-knob Phantom fixtures that provide individual control of two separate bulbs are also not supported by Hydro-X through this adapter.

Who Needs This Adapter

Licensed cannabis and hemp cultivation facilities running Phantom HID ballasts — double-ended HPS or CMH configurations — and TrolMaster Hydro-X as their environmental controller are the target application. If your room was built or retrofitted with Phantom LP or 60 Series gear and you're standardizing on TrolMaster for climate and lighting automation, the LMA-11 is the required link between those two systems.

This adapter is also relevant in phased build-outs. Operators who already have a Hydro-X network in place and are adding or inheriting Phantom ballast inventory can drop in an LMA-11 per ballast (or per zone, depending on how control ports are wired) and bring those fixtures under the existing Hydro-X schedule without rewiring or replacing hardware.

In a commercial grow running Hydro-X, lighting control typically operates through scheduled sunrise/sunset ramps, CO2-responsive light adjustments, or temperature-triggered dimming. All of that logic lives in the Hydro-X. The LMA-11 simply extends that logic to Phantom LP and 60 Series ballasts that would otherwise sit outside the controller's reach.

Each LMA-11 adapter handles one ballast control input. In larger rooms with multiple Phantom ballasts, you'll run one adapter per zone or per ballast depending on how your Phantom hardware's control ports are configured.
