Plug-and-play Hydro-X integration for Phantom LP and Phantom 60 Series ballasts.
The TrolMaster LMA-11 Lighting Control Adapter P bridges the TrolMaster Hydro-X environmental controller to Phantom LP ballasts and Phantom 60 Series fixtures via a low-voltage analog signal — no manual dimming knobs, no separate timer infrastructure. One RJ12 connection brings your Phantom HID ballasts under the same automated schedule and response logic as the rest of your room.
The LMA-11 is a lighting control adapter built specifically for the TrolMaster Hydro-X ecosystem. Its job is to translate the Hydro-X's digital control signal into the 0–11.5V analog signal that Phantom LP ballasts and Phantom 60 Series fixtures expect on their low-voltage control port. Without this adapter, integrating Phantom HID hardware into a TrolMaster-automated room requires manual intervention at the ballast — defeating the point of centralized environmental control.
The adapter is compact and passive in-line hardware. It connects to the Hydro-X via a standard RJ12 cable (a 0.6 ft pigtail is included) and outputs to the Phantom ballast's control input. An onboard LED power indicator confirms the adapter is live so you can verify signal continuity at a glance without pulling up the controller interface.
Important compatibility note: the LMA-11 is designed for Phantom LP and Phantom 60 Series ballasts only. It is not compatible with RS-485 digital protocol fixtures, including Phantom 40 and 50 Series. Two-knob Phantom fixtures that provide individual control of two separate bulbs are also not supported by Hydro-X through this adapter.
Licensed cannabis and hemp cultivation facilities running Phantom HID ballasts — double-ended HPS or CMH configurations — and TrolMaster Hydro-X as their environmental controller are the target application. If your room was built or retrofitted with Phantom LP or 60 Series gear and you're standardizing on TrolMaster for climate and lighting automation, the LMA-11 is the required link between those two systems.
This adapter is also relevant in phased build-outs. Operators who already have a Hydro-X network in place and are adding or inheriting Phantom ballast inventory can drop in an LMA-11 per ballast (or per zone, depending on how control ports are wired) and bring those fixtures under the existing Hydro-X schedule without rewiring or replacing hardware.
Because TrolMaster publishes a broad library of LMA adapters — each keyed to a specific ballast brand's control protocol — specifying the correct part number matters. The LMA-11 is the Phantom-specific variant. Confirm your Phantom model is LP or 60 Series before ordering.
Digital-to-analog signal conversion is the core function. The Hydro-X outputs a digital control command; the LMA-11 converts that to a 0–11.5V analog signal at up to 0.2A — the format Phantom LP and 60 Series ballasts read on their low-voltage input port. This conversion happens transparently; from the controller's perspective, the ballast is just another node on the Hydro-X network.
The plug-and-play design means no wiring splices, no relay boards, and no programming beyond what you'd configure in the Hydro-X interface itself. The RJ12 cable socket on the adapter mates directly with the Hydro-X's lighting control output port. Setup time is measured in minutes.
The onboard LED indicator provides a basic but practical status check. When the adapter is powered and the signal is present, the LED is on. This is useful during commissioning and for routine walk-through checks in multi-light rooms where confirming individual ballast control status without pulling up the controller dashboard saves time.
In a commercial grow running Hydro-X, lighting control typically operates through scheduled sunrise/sunset ramps, CO2-responsive light adjustments, or temperature-triggered dimming. All of that logic lives in the Hydro-X. The LMA-11 simply extends that logic to Phantom LP and 60 Series ballasts that would otherwise sit outside the controller's reach.
Each LMA-11 adapter handles one ballast control input. In larger rooms with multiple Phantom ballasts, you'll run one adapter per zone or per ballast depending on how your Phantom hardware's control ports are configured. The compact form factor (156mm × 83mm × 30mm) means the adapter can be mounted or zip-tied near the ballast without consuming significant panel or racking space.
If your facility runs a mix of HID and LED hardware across multiple rooms, TrolMaster's LMA line offers adapters for other ballast brands as well — each sold separately. The LMA-11 is the correct part specifically for Phantom LP and Phantom 60 Series. Contact HSC to confirm compatibility with your exact Phantom model before placing an order.

The LMA-11 is designed for Phantom LP ballasts and Phantom 60 Series fixtures. It is not compatible with RS-485 protocol models including the Phantom 40 Series and Phantom 50 Series. If you're unsure which series your ballast falls under, check the Phantom model number on the ballast label or contact HSC before ordering.
Each LMA-11 interfaces with one ballast control input. For rooms running multiple Phantom ballasts, you will typically need one adapter per ballast or per independently controlled zone, depending on whether your Phantom units share a control bus or have individual control ports.
The LMA-11 is designed for use with the TrolMaster Hydro-X environmental controller. If you're running a different TrolMaster platform, confirm compatibility with your controller model before ordering — the RJ12 interface and supported control logic may differ.
No additional wiring is required. The LMA-11 uses a plug-and-play RJ12 connection to the Hydro-X lighting control output port. Configuration is handled entirely through the Hydro-X controller interface — the adapter itself requires no programming.
No. Two-knob Phantom fixtures that allow individual control of two separate bulbs cannot be controlled through the Hydro-X via the LMA-11. Only single-control-input Phantom LP and 60 Series ballasts are supported.
