What the LMA-15 Does

The TrolMaster Hydro-X platform is capable of managing most horticultural lighting fixtures on the market, but different fixture types use different low-voltage control protocols. The LMA-15 is the adapter specifically engineered for DLI ballasts — it sits between the Hydro-X controller and the ballast, translating the controller's digital scheduling and dimming commands into the analog voltage signal that DLI fixtures understand.

Without this adapter, the Hydro-X cannot communicate with DLI-protocol ballasts. With it, those fixtures become fully addressable through the Hydro-X interface: on/off scheduling, dimming curves, and timed light programs are all managed from a single control point. The conversion happens cleanly at 0–11.5V output with a maximum draw of 0.2A, keeping the adapter compact and the installation straightforward.

Who Needs It

This adapter is the right choice for any licensed cannabis or hemp operator running DLI ballasts and a TrolMaster Hydro-X or Hydro-X Pro control system. If your facility already uses the Hydro-X ecosystem for environmental control and you're adding or consolidating DLI lighting under that same platform, the LMA-15 is the required interface piece.

It is not a universal 0–10V adapter — TrolMaster makes separate LMA units for 0–10V fixtures, Dimlux ballasts, and other protocols. If your fixtures use a different control protocol, confirm the correct LMA variant before ordering. Also note: dual-knob fixtures that allow independent control of two separate bulbs are not compatible with Hydro-X lighting control through this adapter.

Fitting the LMA-15 Into a Hydro-X Build

The TrolMaster LMA series is designed so each adapter occupies one of the lighting control channels on the HCS-1 station or Hydro-X Pro hub. The LMA-15 connects to that channel via the included RJ12 port, then the ballast connects to the adapter's output. From there, all scheduling, dimming levels, and light program logic is configured through the Hydro-X interface the way any other controlled device would be.

For facilities running multiple DLI fixtures or zones, the quantity of LMA-15 adapters needed corresponds to the number of independent lighting channels being controlled. This is a standard line-item in any Hydro-X system build that includes DLI-protocol ballasts — plan one adapter per controlled channel and confirm fixture compatibility before commissioning.
