What This Kit Does

The Leizig Duct Kit is the manufacturer-matched ducting interface for two units in the Leizig commercial dehumidifier lineup: the LG508 and the LG880. Both units use R410a refrigerant and are designed for high-output, continuous-duty operation in licensed cultivation facilities. The duct kit provides the transition hardware needed to connect flexible or rigid ductwork to the unit's inlet and discharge ports, enabling you to locate the dehumidifier outside the canopy zone — in a mechanical corridor, adjacent room, or overhead plenum — and route air into the cultivation space through defined duct paths.

Without a proper OEM duct kit, operators attempting to duct these units are left improvising with generic HVAC transitions that may not seat correctly against the unit's housing geometry, introducing air leakage at the connection point and reducing effective moisture removal. The factory kit eliminates that variable. Filtration uses a MERV-8/13 filter measuring 31.8" × 22.3" × 1". Drain connection is 3/4" NPT threaded for direct tie-in to floor drains. The LG508 is suited to large dedicated flower rooms and multi-light facilities running high canopy density.

The LG880 is Leizig's flagship unit, removing 880 pints per day at 6.36 pints/kWh on three-phase 480V power, with a 2,250 CFM blower and a 22,000 BTU/h heat load. It shares the same MERV-8/13 filtration format and 3/4" NPT drain connection as the LG508. Both units support hoisted, ceiling-mount, wall-mount, and floor cabinet installation, and both ship with RS485 (MODBUS) compatibility plus remote dry contact input for integration with environmental controllers. Why Ducted Installation Matters in Commercial Cultivation

Placing a high-capacity dehumidifier directly inside a flower room is workable at smaller scales, but creates real constraints in multi-room builds or rooms with tightly managed microclimates. Ducted installation lets the unit live outside the canopy environment — reducing radiant heat load in the room, simplifying access for filter changes and maintenance, and allowing the HVAC layout to treat the dehumidifier as a fixed mechanical asset rather than a movable unit on the floor.

For facilities using ceiling-suspended installation — which Leizig's hoisted mounting configuration supports — a duct kit is often essential. The unit may be positioned above a ceiling or in an interstitial space, with supply and return air routed through the ceiling plane into the grow room below. This approach works particularly well in multi-tier vertical builds where floor space is fully committed to racking and every cubic foot of the canopy zone is accounted for. It also supports cleaner airflow zoning: return air pulled from the canopy at a defined location, processed moisture removed, and dry discharge air returned at a separate point — reducing the short-cycling that can occur when inlet and outlet are too close together in a freestanding configuration.

Both the LG508 and LG880 support continuous 24/7 duty cycles. In sealed or near-sealed rooms running CO2 enrichment, the dehumidifier is always on during the lights-on period. Proper ducting protects that uptime by keeping the unit accessible, serviceable, and thermally isolated from conditions inside the room.
