What This Kit Does

The Leizig Duct Kit allows the LG508 or LG880 dehumidifier to be positioned outside the grow room — in an adjacent mechanical space, hallway, or utility corridor — and ducted into the canopy zone through dedicated supply and return runs. Without a duct kit, the unit must sit inside the room, consuming floor space and adding heat load directly at canopy level. With this kit installed, the dehumidifier's blower pulls humid room air through a dedicated inlet duct, processes it across the refrigerant coil, and returns dry air via a separate supply duct — all without the chassis occupying grow floor or canopy airspace.

This is the OEM kit engineered specifically for the LG508 and LG880 chassis. The transitions are dimensioned to the exact port geometry of those two units. Third-party duct adapters or field-fabricated transitions introduce fit issues, air bypass, and potential static pressure increases that reduce effective CFM — avoid them on units running at 1,500 CFM (LG508) or 2,250 CFM (LG880).

Compatibility — Verify Your Refrigerant Variant Before Ordering

If you're specifying a new LG508 or LG880 and already know you'll be ducting the unit out of the grow room, plan the duct kit into the original order. Retrofitting ducting to an installed, operational unit is possible but requires downtime for repositioning and duct rough-in. The cleaner path is to coordinate the unit placement, structural rough-in, and duct kit installation before commissioning.

Why Duct a Commercial Dehumidifier Out of the Grow Room

High-capacity commercial dehumidifiers generate meaningful heat as a byproduct of the refrigeration cycle. The LG508 produces approximately 15,200 BTU/h of heat load; the LG880 produces approximately 22,000 BTU/h. In a sealed room, that heat load adds directly to your HVAC burden during lights-on periods. Positioning the unit in a remote mechanical space and ducting it in removes that heat load from the cultivation environment entirely — the waste heat discharges into the mechanical space rather than back into the canopy.

Remote installation also reduces in-room noise. Both the LG508 and LG880 are engineered for low-vibration operation, but any electromechanical unit running 24 hours adds ambient noise to the grow environment. Placing the chassis outside the room and running duct to the cultivation space keeps operational noise largely contained to the mechanical corridor. The LG508 and LG880 support four mounting configurations — ceiling-suspended, wall-mounted, floor cabinet, and freestanding — and ducted remote installation is a natural extension of the ceiling-suspended or wall-mounted approach. When laying out mechanical rough-in for a new build or retrofit, plan dedicated inlet and supply duct runs sized to match the unit's blower output. The LG508 moves 1,500 CFM; the LG880 moves 2,250 CFM. Duct sizing, static pressure, and run length all affect delivered CFM at the room — design the duct system to minimize restrictions.

Both the LG508 and LG880 include RS485 (MODBUS) connectivity and remote dry contact input, so they can be integrated with your environmental controller regardless of where the chassis is physically located. Drainage still requires a gravity drain line or condensate pump routed from the unit's 3/4-inch NPT drain connection to an appropriate floor drain. Coordinate mechanical, electrical, and drainage rough-in concurrently — the duct kit handles the air path, but the full installation plan includes power, controls, and condensate management.
