The Hawkeye is a dedicated environmental monitor — not a controller. It does one job and does it continuously: display and log temperature, relative humidity, CO₂ PPM, and derived VPD across three dedicated LED readouts on the front panel. There are no relays, no switching circuits, and no automation outputs. That clarity is the point — it gives your facility a verified, always-on reference for climate conditions without depending on a controller's internal sensor for compliance-grade data.
The SA-S81 3-in-1 sensor attaches via a 16-foot cable, letting you position the sensor inside the canopy zone or at a regulatory-relevant measurement point while keeping the display unit outside the room for at-a-glance readings without suiting up. The unit runs on standard 100–240 VAC power and includes its DC adapter, so there's no transformer sourcing required.
Licensed cannabis and hemp cultivators running sealed or semi-sealed rooms will find the CM-1 most useful in two scenarios: primary monitoring for rooms that don't yet run a full TrolMaster control system, and redundant backup monitoring for rooms that do. Data logging works two ways: cloud-based trend graphs through the TrolMaster app when connected to the internet, or local storage to a MicroSD card (up to 128 GB, not included) that records readings every 15 seconds in a date-stamped text file format. The MicroSD path means you retain a full local data trail even during internet outages — relevant for operations that need continuous, auditable environmental records. The unit operates fully standalone without any internet connection; connectivity adds remote visibility, not core function.

Monitoring only. The Hawkeye has no relay outputs and cannot switch or control HVAC, CO₂ systems, or any other device. It reads and logs temperature, humidity, CO₂, and VPD, and it sends alerts — that's its full scope. If you need active device control, TrolMaster's Hydro-X or Aqua-X controllers are the appropriate platform.
Yes. The CM-1 operates fully standalone without internet. The front-panel LED displays remain active, local alarms function, and if a MicroSD card is inserted, data logging continues uninterrupted. Internet connectivity is only required for TrolMaster app access and remote push notifications.
Place the SA-S81 sensor in the canopy zone where you need the most accurate climate reading — typically at or slightly above the canopy for temp/RH, or at the level where CO₂ enrichment concentrations are most critical to capture. The 16-foot cable lets you run the sensor into the room while keeping the display unit outside the door for easy monitoring without entering the space.
Yes, and this is a common deployment for commercial facilities. The CM-1 uses an independent SA-S81 sensor, so it provides a second, physically separate measurement point from the controller's sensor. Both devices feed the same TrolMaster app, giving you cross-reference visibility between control-loop readings and an independent verification sensor positioned elsewhere in the room.
The unit saves readings every 15 seconds to a plain text (.txt) file named by MAC address and date, one file per day. Insert a MicroSD card (up to 128 GB capacity) into the slot on the unit, and files are written automatically. You can remove the card and read the files on any standard computer. Hot-plugging the MicroSD card while the unit is running is not recommended, as it can corrupt the files on the card.
