The kit delivers full RS485-protocol dimming and spectrum control — powering up to 99 Chroma fixtures per dimmer — through a purpose-built Faven dimmer module, M12 adapter cable, and 24V DC power supply.
The GFX-DIM-485-DIM-NA-FVNKIT ships as a complete, ready-to-wire bundle. It includes the Faven RS485 dimmer module (GFX-MLC-DIM-485-NA-FVN), the M12-to-fixture adapter cable (GFX-ATM-M12-4S-TFVN), a 24V DC power adapter with a North American NEMA plug, and a quickstart card. Every component is matched and tested together — you are not assembling a compatibility puzzle from separate SKUs.
The Faven dimmer module is the active RS485 controller node. It speaks natively to the Chroma fixture's dual-driver RS485 architecture, which is distinct from the 0-10V protocol used by conventional single-driver LED fixtures. The adapter cable bridges the dimmer's M12 output to the Chroma daisy-chain port, maintaining signal integrity across a run of fixtures without requiring individual wiring at each head.
The Chroma fixture requires a controller — it does not operate standalone. Operators who want app-based wireless control with scheduling and remote access use the GrowFlux Access Point system. This kit is the right choice when a facility does not have or does not want a wireless access point on-site, or is integrating Chroma fixtures into an existing wired control infrastructure using an approved RS485 adapter.

Faven designed the Chroma around a dual-driver internal architecture — one driver for the primary 120W spectrum-tunable output and a second driver for the independent 15W far-red channel. That two-driver setup makes RS485 the correct protocol: it carries the multi-parameter control signal (spectrum recipe R4–R9, far-red on/off, dimming level) over a single bus, which 0-10V cannot do natively.
RS485 is a differential-signal standard with good noise immunity over cable runs typical in a commercial grow room. The Chroma's daisy-chain port design means fixtures connect in series without individual home-run cables back to the dimmer, which keeps installation clean on bench rows. The adapter cable in this kit provides the correct M12-to-fixture termination to enter or exit that daisy chain.
Plan one dimmer kit per control zone. A single RS485 bus can address up to 99 Chroma fixtures, so a two-zone room — for example, two independent benching rows you want to run on separate schedules or spectrum recipes — needs two kits. Zones can be differentiated by spectrum recipe (R4–R5 vegetative side, R8–R9 finishing side) or by timing (staggered far-red end-of-day sequences on alternating rows).
If the facility grows into a wireless control strategy later, the GrowFlux Access Point can be added and paired to GrowFlux-compatible dimmers — but note the Chroma's wired RS485 dimmer in this kit operates independently of the GrowFlux mesh. Operators transitioning to wireless will need the GrowFlux Chroma dimmer variant designed for mesh pairing.
