Probe Construction and Measurement Reliability

The pH/EC combo probe uses a double-junction pH sensor — a design that places an intermediate chamber between the reference electrolyte and the sample, significantly reducing contamination-driven drift compared to single-junction probes. The EC sensor is built with a titanium conductivity element, chosen for its corrosion resistance and stable cell constant in fertilizer-heavy nutrient solutions. Together, these materials reduce maintenance frequency and extend the probe's calibrated service life in daily commercial use.

The ORP probe is a replaceable double-junction platinum electrode. Platinum is the standard reference material for ORP measurement; the double-junction construction again provides isolation from sample fouling. Automatic temperature compensation (ATC) is active across pH and EC measurements, correcting readings for solution temperature in real time — essential for consistency between morning and afternoon checks when reservoir temps shift.

Display, Calibration, and the TruRead Function

TruRead mode is designed for multi-point sampling runs. Take readings at several locations — different zones in a recirculating system, multiple tables in a flood-and-drain room — and the tester automatically calculates and displays the average, minimum, and maximum values across all readings taken. The body carries an IP67 waterproof rating, meaning it can be fully submerged to 1 meter for up to 30 minutes.
