10% monosilicic acid — fully plant-available, no PEG, no pH disruption, root or foliar.
Front Row Si is a 10% stabilized monosilicic acid (MSA) supplement formulated for commercial hydroponics and soilless cultivation. It delivers fully plant-available silicon without the pH-spiking drawbacks of potassium silicate, and is compatible with all nutrient programs from veg through late flower.
Front Row Si is a liquid silicon supplement built around 10% stabilized monosilicic acid (MSA) — the only form of silicon a plant can absorb and use directly. Potassium silicate (K₂SiO₃) is alkaline, requires high pH to stay in solution, and introduces excess potassium that has to be compensated for in your base formula. MSA bypasses all of that: it is already in the plant-available form, does not raise pH at use rates, and adds no excess mineral load to your EC targets.
Front Row Ag stabilizes their MSA using a polylol (sugar-based alcohol) technology — no polyethylene glycol (PEG) in the formulation. This approach maintains solubility across typical fertigation pH ranges and produces fewer precipitates than acid-stabilized or PEG-stabilized competitors. The stabilization matrix is fully metabolized by the plant and leaves no residues.
Front Row Si is dialed in for licensed cannabis and hemp operators running soilless media — coco, rockwool, peat, NFT, DWC, and recirculating systems. In sterile media there is no background silicon pool, so supplementation is the only pathway to adequate plant-available Si. Potassium silicate can work in soil (given microbial conversion time), but for coco and rockwool runs — especially longer-flowering cultivars — direct MSA delivery is more reliable.
It fits cleanly into multi-part mineral programs (including Front Row Ag's own A/B/Bloom dry soluble system, as well as third-party nutrient lines) without disrupting the formula. Facilities that have validated their nutrient builds and are sensitive to EC drift or potassium imbalance will find MSA supplementation cleaner to manage than silicate salts. It is also applicable to outdoor field hemp and greenhouse crop programs throughout the full growing season.
Front Row Si is dual-application: it functions as both a root-zone drench and a foliar spray. A built-in surfactant means no additional wetting agent is needed for foliar applications — 0.5 mL/gal in RO water is the foliar rate. Root-zone rate scales with EC: at lower feed strength (below 2.3 EC) the full 0.5 mL/gal rate applies; rate is stepped down progressively as EC climbs to avoid precipitate formation in the reservoir.
Stock concentrate injection is supported at 50–250 mL/gal. Mixed reservoirs and batch tanks should be used within 48 hours of preparation; if your reservoir isn't turning over in that window, shift to foliar delivery. Add Si at the start of your mixing sequence — not last — to prevent cloudiness or gel formation. Silicic acid is incompatible in concentrate with calcium and magnesium sources, so keep it in a dedicated injector channel. Always reference Front Row Ag's Si-vs-EC chart for specific rate guidance by feed strength.
Silicon supplementation via MSA targets structural and physiological outcomes that matter at production scale: thicker cell walls, improved stem rigidity, better water-use efficiency, and measurable tolerance to heat stress, drought stress, and temperature swings. From a cultivation standpoint, consistent Si through veg and into early flower helps reinforce canopy structure, reduces mechanical failure risk in heavy-budding cultivars, and supports uniform canopy development under high-intensity lighting.
Front Row Si is program-agnostic — it does not require the rest of the Front Row Ag line to function. Whether your facility is running a multi-part liquid system, a dry soluble A/B format, or a simplified one-part approach, Si slots in as a standalone additive. Sizes available through HSC: Quart, 1 Gallon, and 30 Gallon drum for high-volume programs.

Potassium silicate is alkaline and must be maintained at high pH to stay in solution, which means it raises your reservoir pH and adds potassium that has to be compensated for in your base nutrient build. In soilless media there's also limited microbial activity to convert silicate into plant-available MSA. Front Row Si delivers MSA directly — already in the form plants absorb — without the pH management overhead and without adding excess potassium to your formula.
The Si rate must decrease as your feed EC increases. At reservoir EC below 2.3, run up to 0.5 mL/gal. Above 2.3, step the rate down incrementally — Front Row Ag publishes a Si-vs-EC chart that maps specific rates to EC bands. Running full rate at high EC raises precipitate risk in the reservoir.
Yes. Stock concentrate rate is 50–250 mL/gal. Use a dedicated injector channel — do not mix Si concentrate with calcium or magnesium sources in the same tank, as that can cause precipitation. When injecting directly to a mixed reservoir, add Si first in your mixing sequence before part A, part B, and other additives.
Yes, and it is specifically designed for it. The formulation includes a built-in surfactant, so no additional wetting agent is required. Foliar rate is 0.5 mL/gal in RO water. Foliar application is also the recommended approach when your reservoir isn't turning over within 48 hours — mixed Si solution should be used within that window.
Yes. Front Row Si is program-agnostic and does not require the rest of the Front Row Ag system. It integrates with multi-part liquid programs, dry soluble A/B formats, and simplified single-part programs. Because it doesn't raise pH or add significant potassium load, it fits into validated builds without requiring formula recalculation beyond the Si rate itself.
