The Flexstar UCL 120W R5W is a slim-profile, bar-format LED fixture purpose-built for under-canopy supplemental lighting in licensed cannabis and hemp facilities. At just under 46 inches long and 2.9 inches wide, it mounts horizontally beneath the primary canopy layer — between the toplight and the lower bud sites that dense foliage shades out.
The R5W spectral profile is a flowering-weighted output tuned to support bud development at canopy levels where primary fixtures deliver diminishing returns. The fixture runs at a flat 120W draw across the full 120V–277V input range, making it compatible with standard commercial infrastructure without additional electrical engineering.

In a single-tier flowering room, the UCL is positioned beneath the canopy screen — typically 6 to 18 inches below the primary toplight plane — directed downward into the lower bud zone. In vertical multi-tier racking, the UCL typically mounts to the underside of each tier's grow deck, pointing downward at the tier below. Both fixtures share the same 120W draw, form factor, and physical specs. The R5W delivers 340 μmol/s at 2.8 μmol/J. The R8W delivers 360 μmol/s at 3.0 μmol/J — slightly higher output and efficacy with a spectrum tuned further toward the red-heavy end. R5W is the more broadly deployed option in mixed-spectrum rooms; R8W is preferred in facilities specifically dialing in far-red influence at lower canopy levels.
