The Flexstar Redline 800W SpecTune (FLRL-800AR5) is an 8-bar, 800W commercial LED grow light delivering 3.2 µmol/J efficacy through Flexstar's patented Liquid Optics System — with independent UV and far-red channel control to steer spectrum across every stage of the cycle.
The Flexstar Redline 800W SpecTune is an 8-bar, top-light LED fixture built on the same Liquid Optics System (LOS) platform as the standard Redline series — with an added layer of spectral programmability. Where the base Redline runs a fixed full-spectrum output, the SpecTune variant gives operators independent control over four discrete channels: UV, Deep Red, White, and Far Red. Each channel is adjustable from 25–100%, which means you can dial in a veg-biased recipe on day one and shift toward a far-red-heavy, flower-accelerating output mid-cycle without swapping fixtures or rescheduling infrastructure.
Photon delivery is rated at 3.2 µmol/J — matched to the standard Redline — at a total system draw of 800W. The fixture covers a 4×4 ft canopy footprint and is designed for both single-tier and vertical multi-tier installations. The foldable bar design keeps the shipping profile compact and simplifies rack integration.
Most bar-style LEDs lose a measurable percentage of output to lens absorption, reflection scatter, and thermal lensing as the fixture ages. Flexstar's patented Liquid Optics System addresses all three at once. The sealed silicone-gel optic encapsulates each LED, eliminating the air gap between diode and lens surface — Flexstar rates this at 99% optical efficiency. Because the gel is bidirectional in its thermal conductivity, it also pulls junction heat away from the diode itself, reducing LED operating temperature by 9–15°F relative to a conventional air-gap design.
Lower junction temperature translates directly to slower lumen depreciation. The Redline series is rated at 54,000 hours to Q90 — meaning at that point the fixture is still delivering 90% of its initial output. For a licensed operator running two or three crops per year, that lifespan spans well over a decade of production cycles without a relamping event. The sealed housing also prevents dust and chemical residue from accumulating on the optic surface, so output stays consistent even in high-spray environments.
The SpecTune platform adds RS485 communication on top of standard 0-10V dimming, enabling per-channel addressability through a compatible controller. Operators can program distinct spectral recipes for propagation, early veg, late veg, transition, and peak flower — and execute them on a schedule rather than manually adjusting at each bench. Far red (typically 730–740nm) is independently controllable to leverage the Emerson enhancement effect during the flowering window. UV control allows operators to apply measured stress-based secondary metabolite protocols without running a separate UV supplemental fixture.
Daisy-chain support extends to 80 fixtures per channel, so a 10,000 sq ft flower room can run coordinated spectrum programming across the entire canopy from a single controller interface. This makes the SpecTune practical at true commercial scale — not just for small experimental bays — without adding per-fixture wiring complexity.
The Redline 800W covers a 4×4 ft footprint in a standard single-tier or multi-tier vertical configuration. It accepts 120V, 240V, and 277V input, which means it fits both retrofitted legacy infrastructure and purpose-built commercial electrical designs without requiring a separate driver voltage conversion. Dimming runs from 25–100% via 0-10V, compatible with most commercial lighting controllers including TrolMaster and industry-standard 0-10V wall stations.
Passive cooling — no fans — keeps operating noise at zero and eliminates the most common point of mechanical failure in a sealed fixture. The IP66 rating means the light survives direct spray-down cleaning, high-humidity flower rooms, and the chemical vapor exposure that comes with regular foliar programs. ETL, DLC, CE, and TISI certifications cover both safety compliance and utility rebate eligibility in qualifying states. For operators building out new canopy or retrofitting HPS infrastructure, the Redline 800W SpecTune delivers a straightforward per-fixture specification: one 800W circuit position, one 4×4 zone, one fixture that holds its output and its spec table across its entire service life.

The standard Redline 800W runs a fixed full-spectrum output — spectrum integrity is maintained across the full dimming range but the channel balance does not change. The SpecTune (FLRL-800AR5) adds four independently adjustable channels (UV, Deep Red, White, Far Red) and RS485 communication so spectrum can be programmed per growth stage. Efficacy is 3.2 µmol/J on both; the SpecTune PPF ceiling is marginally lower at approximately 3,000 µmol/s versus 3,200 µmol/s on the fixed model due to the added channel architecture.
The SpecTune supports 0-10V dimming natively, making it compatible with most commercial lighting controllers that output a standard 0-10V signal. For full 4-channel spectrum programming you need an RS485-capable controller — Flexstar's X5 Smart Controller supports this natively. Operators using TrolMaster or other RS485-compatible controllers should verify protocol compatibility before specifying at scale; contact us and we can walk through integration requirements for your specific control system.
The Redline SpecTune supports daisy-chain wiring of up to 80 fixtures per control channel. For large commercial rooms — 10,000+ sq ft — this significantly reduces wiring runs and controller port requirements compared to individually addressed fixtures.
Yes. The 8-bar format and 4×4 ft footprint are sized for standard vertical rack bays. The foldable bar design allows the fixture to ship flat and fold into position on the tier, which simplifies installation in tight multi-tier configurations. Passive cooling (no fans) also means there is no forced-air exhaust to manage when tiers are closely stacked. If you are sizing a new vertical build, reach out and we can help spec fixture count and tier spacing against your target PPFD targets.
IP66 indicates the fixture is fully dust-tight and protected against powerful water jets from any direction — it is designed to withstand standard grow room spray-down procedures. The sealed Liquid Optics System lens also prevents chemical residue and dust from accumulating on the optic surface, which would otherwise degrade output over time. As with any electrical fixture, avoid directing high-pressure streams at cord entry points or junction boxes.
