What the R6 Is and How It Works

The Faven R6 is a dedicated under-canopy LED bar — not a repurposed overhead fixture. At 46 inches long and 120W, it mounts at mid-canopy height to deliver supplemental photons directly to lower and mid bud sites that overhead top lights cannot reach effectively past roughly 18 inches into a dense canopy.

The R6 runs a 60% red spectrum with a broader white component. That ratio is Faven's 'Spectrum Balancing' approach for HPS rooms: HPS already delivers heavy red, orange, and yellow output, so the R6 layers in the blue and green wavelengths HPS lacks while reinforcing the 660nm red peak that drives late-stage flowering photosynthesis. The result is a more complete spectrum at the bud sites that matter most — the mid and lower nodes that would otherwise produce smalls or require labor-intensive under-clearing.

The bar outputs up to 340 µmol/s PPF at 2.9 µmol/J efficacy. Each unit weighs 5.73 lbs and is fully sealed in one-piece aluminum housing — rated IP66 for wet commercial environments including misting systems, foliar IPM sprays, and standard cleaning procedures.

Who Should Run the R6

The R6 is the correct Faven model for facilities running HID top lights — specifically HPS double-ended or single-ended rooms. If your top-light infrastructure is already high in red, orange, and yellow output, the R6's balanced full-spectrum approach offsets that bias without compounding the warm-spectrum load the way the R8 (80% red) would.

It's also the practical entry point for large-scale operators who want to introduce under-canopy lighting across significant square footage. Integrating R6 Into an Existing Build

The R6 is an additive layer to an existing lighting infrastructure — it does not replace overhead fixtures. Size your bar count by bench length: convert bench length to inches, divide by 46 inches, and that gives you the bars needed per row. Faven's own layout guidance recommends at least one power cord per bench; rows beyond a single bar daisy-chain with extension cords.

The R6 is compatible with Faven's adjustable stand accessories (sold separately), which allow mounting height adjustment at 8, 10, and 12 inches — giving operators flexibility to dial in canopy clearance as plants develop through flower.
