The Faven Mini Controller is a dedicated 0-10V analog dimming unit for Faven R6 and R8 under-canopy LED fixtures. It connects via RJ jack directly into the communication line on the power cord and scales across arrays of up to 100 fixtures — giving operators precise intensity control without a full lighting control platform.
The Faven Mini Controller is a purpose-built 0-10V analog dimmer designed specifically for the Faven R Series under-canopy LED lineup. It plugs directly into the RJ jack on the power cord's communication line and broadcasts a single dimming signal across every fixture daisy-chained in the run. The front interface is straightforward: '+' steps intensity up, '−' steps it down, positions 1–9 represent discrete intensity levels, and 'F' delivers full output. There is no software to configure, no hub to commission, and no network to maintain.
This controller handles intensity only. It does not manage on/off switching and cannot substitute for a timer. Operators running it as a standalone solution will still need a separate timer or relay to govern their photoperiod. For facilities already operating a full 0-10V platform — Growlink, GrowFlux, TrolMaster, Argus, Agritek, Thrive, and others — the Mini Controller is an optional add-on for runs or benches that sit outside the main control loop.
The Mini Controller fits two common deployment scenarios. First: facilities running Faven R6 or R8 fixtures that don't yet have a primary lighting control system and need a low-friction way to dial back intensity — useful when dialing in new genetics, managing photoperiod-sensitive stages, or reducing heat load during warm weather runs. Second: larger operations where most benches are already integrated into a controller but one or two isolated runs need independent intensity adjustment without being wired into the main system.
It's also the right tool when working with strains that are sensitive to high photon flux density at canopy level. Under-canopy fixtures sit much closer to bud sites than overhead lights, and some cultivars respond better at 50–70% of maximum output during certain stages. Having a physical, dedicated dimmer on the bench-level run makes those adjustments fast and repeatable without touching facility-wide settings.
The Mini Controller operates on the standard 0-10V analog protocol, which is broadly supported across commercial horticultural control platforms. Faven R6 and R8 fixtures can dim down to approximately 35–40% of maximum intensity via this signal. The controller daisy-chains across the full fixture run with a single RJ connection into the first light in sequence, then propagates the dimming signal through each linked fixture in the chain.
Compatibility is limited to the Faven R Series: R6 (60% red, optimized for HPS/HID rooms) and R8 (80% red, optimized for full-spectrum LED rooms and greenhouses). It is not compatible with the Faven Chroma line, which uses a separate digital control protocol for spectrum recipe management and far-red scheduling. In a standard Faven R Series deployment, each bench run is powered by a single power cord feeding up to 20 daisy-chained fixtures. The Mini Controller drops into that run at the cord's RJ communication port — no additional wiring, no panel work. For operations running multiple benches, each bench can have its own Mini Controller, letting staff set different intensity levels per row based on strain, bench position, or growth stage without affecting adjacent runs.
For facilities scaling up to a full integrated lighting control system over time, the Mini Controller is a practical interim solution. When the main platform comes online, Faven R6 and R8 fixtures integrate natively with major 0-10V controllers (TrolMaster Hydro-X with LMA-14 adapter, Growlink, GrowFlux, Vivosun, Argus, Agritek DXV4, and others), so the transition requires no fixture changes — just a swap of the control signal source. The Mini Controller can then be redeployed on any bench that remains outside the integrated loop.
