What the CX3 Is

The Faven CX3 is a wired, standalone lighting controller designed to run Faven's complete under-canopy fixture lineup — the R6 (60% red, HPS-room optimized), R8 (80% red, LED-room optimized), and Chroma (tunable R4–R9 spectrum with independent 15W far-red channel). It delivers direct control over dimming intensity, spectrum recipe selection, and far-red scheduling without requiring a router, app, or third-party integration.

Where the CX2 was limited to Chroma fixtures only, the CX3 expands native support across all three fixture lines, making it the practical controller for multi-zone rooms running both R-Series and Chroma hardware on the same control system. It operates via manual inputs and time-based scheduling, giving cultivation teams a consistent, hands-on interface that does not depend on network connectivity to function.

Who This Controller Is Built For

The CX3 fits commercial and mid-scale licensed cultivation operations that have deployed Faven under-canopy lighting across multiple benches or zones and need zone-level control without the overhead of a cloud-based platform. If your room runs Chroma in one zone and R-Series bars in another — or if you are standardizing a facility-wide Faven under-canopy build — the CX3 is the single controller that covers both.

The CX3 runs two fully independent channels, each managing up to 100 fixtures — 200 fixtures total across both channels. Channels can be configured to run separate lighting strategies simultaneously, which supports split-zone grows where different cultivars, canopy densities, or growth stages require different light recipes at the same time.

For Chroma fixtures, the CX3 enables spectrum recipe selection across the R4–R9 range (40%–90% red) and independent scheduling of the Chroma's 15W far-red channel. Far-red can be programmed to run before and after the main lights-on window to influence shade avoidance response and accelerate flowering transitions — without requiring manual intervention each day. R6 and R8 channels operate in dimming mode via the controller's direct intensity control. Both manual and time-based scheduling modes are supported.

How It Fits a Commercial Under-Canopy Build

Under-canopy lighting in a commercial flower room solves a specific photon-delivery problem: overhead fixtures cannot effectively penetrate past roughly 18 inches into a dense canopy, leaving lower nodes light-starved and producing lower-grade flower.
