The Faven Chroma 277V Power Cord w/ SPD 3.0 is the power entry assembly designed specifically for the Chroma under-canopy LED bar. It is not interchangeable with Faven's R-Series power cords — the Chroma fixture line uses its own cord format. This SKU (10-010704-393) bundles four items into a single part number: the 10 ft/3M power cord with an integrated surge protection device (SPD), an IP66-rated rubber end cap, a single-end 10 ft/3M communication cable, and a low-voltage accessory dimming wire.
The integrated SPD is the meaningful upgrade in this bundle versus a bare cord. Voltage transients on commercial 277V lighting circuits — from switching events, HVAC load changes, or utility irregularities — can degrade LED driver electronics over time. Having surge suppression built into the power entry point protects the fixtures in the chain without requiring a separate inline device.
Every Chroma daisy-chain requires one power cord at the head of the chain. If you are commissioning a new Chroma installation on 277V infrastructure, each independent circuit needs this cord. If you are expanding an existing installation beyond the 277V maximum of 20 fixtures per circuit, each additional circuit requires its own power cord.
The 277V configuration is the most infrastructure-efficient option for large-scale commercial builds — at 277V you can run up to 20 Chroma fixtures on a single circuit before splitting to a second chain. Facilities that already have 277V lighting circuits stubbed to their benches should specify this SKU. Operators on 120V or 240V infrastructure need the corresponding voltage variants instead.
The included end cap is required to maintain the IP66 ingress protection rating of the last fixture in any chain. If that open port is left uncapped, the fixture's waterproof rating is compromised. The communication cable in the bundle initiates controller connectivity — linking the power cord's communication port to the first fixture's input and enabling dimming control via the CX2, GrowFlux, or a 0-10V system.
The 277V plug uses a NEMA L7 twist-lock connector. Twist-lock is the code-compliant standard for commercial 277V lighting circuits — it prevents accidental disconnection in environments with vibration or frequent foot traffic around fixtures. The L7 format is what commercial electricians will expect when roughing in the circuit.
The communication cable included is a single-end 10 ft/3M format, matching the Faven system's RJ12-based signal architecture. The screw-on connector on the fixture end seats securely into the Chroma's waterproof communication port, maintaining signal integrity and environmental protection at the junction. In a properly spec'd Chroma installation, the power cord is the first item placed on the bill of materials — its voltage determines how many fixtures you can run per circuit and what your circuit load will look like. At 277V and up to 20 Chroma fixtures per chain, a single 20A circuit can carry a substantial bench run. Coordinating cord voltage with your electrical infrastructure early avoids rework.
Once the power cord is in place, jumper cables bridge fixture-to-fixture gaps across bench geometry, and the communication cable network carries dimming and spectrum commands from the CX2 or GrowFlux controller out to every bar in the chain. The IP66 end cap closes the final fixture's open port, completing the sealed system. All of that downstream hardware is sold separately — this bundle covers the power entry, protection, and the first communication link only.

No. This is the Chroma-specific power cord. Faven's R-Series (R6, R8, R8 FR) and Chroma lines use different cord formats and are not cross-compatible. Make sure you match the cord SKU to your fixture series.
One per daisy-chain circuit. At 277V, Faven supports up to 20 Chroma fixtures on a single chain. If your bench fixture count stays at or under 20, one cord covers the bench. If you exceed 20 fixtures, or run multiple independent circuits, each circuit requires its own power cord.
The surge protection device (SPD) limits voltage transients that can reach the fixture's LED drivers — events caused by circuit switching, equipment startup surges, or utility irregularities common on commercial 277V lighting infrastructure. It is built into the cord itself, so no external surge suppressor is needed at the power entry point.
The Chroma bar is IP66-rated, but that rating depends on all ports being sealed. The last fixture in any daisy-chain has an open output port with no jumper cable attached. The IP66 rubber end cap plugs that port, maintaining the fixture's full waterproof rating and protecting it from irrigation spray and high-humidity wash-down environments.
