The Faven Chroma 3.0 120V Power Cord is the OEM-specified connection cable for Chroma 3.0 under-canopy fixtures. What This Cord Does

The Faven Chroma 3.0 runs on a proprietary digital control bus — not the standard 0-10V analog signal used by Faven's R-series fixtures. That means a generic 120V cord will deliver power to the fixture but leave the controller features completely inert: no spectrum switching, no dimming, no scheduling. The Chroma 3.0 power cord solves this by combining the 120V AC line and the Chroma digital communication signal on a single OEM connector.

This cord is the first link in every Chroma daisy chain — it runs from the controller's fixture output port to the input port on your first Chroma 3.0 bar. From there, Chroma-compatible jumper cables bridge fixture to fixture down the bench. One cord initiates the chain; the controller rides the comm bus through every fixture connected downstream.

Compatibility and What It Is Not

This cord is designed exclusively for the Faven Chroma 3.0 under-canopy fixture. It is not compatible with Faven's R6, R8, or R8 FR base-model fixtures — those use a separate R-series power cord with an analog dimming wire, not the Chroma control bus. Mixing cord types between fixture generations will result in either a loss of control or a connector mismatch.

Faven's Chroma port is keyed and toleranced to OEM spec. Third-party cables that appear dimensionally similar often fail to seat fully, producing intermittent communication dropouts even when the fixture powers on correctly. Faven also specifies use of OEM control wiring as a condition of the Chroma fixture warranty — running aftermarket cords on a Chroma installation puts warranty coverage at risk.

Daisy Chain Planning at 120V

At 120V, a single Chroma daisy chain is rated for up to 10 fixtures per circuit. Each bench installation requires at least one power cord at the head of the chain. If your bench layout exceeds 10 Chroma 3.0 units on a single 120V circuit, the installation must be split into separate chains, each with its own power cord.

The 10 ft / 3 m length is intended to cover the run from wall outlet or junction box to the first fixture on a standard commercial bench setup. For installations where the outlet is positioned farther from the bench entry point, plan your electrical infrastructure accordingly before finalizing cord count. Jumper cables — not this cord — bridge fixture-to-fixture gaps within the chain.

Where This Fits in a Chroma Build

Chroma 3.0 under-canopy fixtures run 120W of spectrum-adjustable output across six R-value recipes (R4–R9) plus an independent 15W far-red channel — all managed through the CX2 controller or GrowFlux wireless system. None of that controller functionality reaches the fixture without the digital comm bus this cord carries. It is not an optional accessory; it is the required power and communication entry point for every Chroma circuit.

For multi-bench rooms, calculate one power cord per controller-to-first-fixture run. Faven Chroma starter packs include one power cord per pack, but expansion beyond the starter configuration — additional benches, additional circuits, or bench splits at the 10-fixture 120V limit — requires additional cords. Can I use a standard 120V extension cord or a generic LED power cord with my Chroma 3.0 fixtures?

No. A generic 120V cord will power the fixture but cannot carry the Chroma digital communication bus. The OEM Chroma 3.0 power cord is the only cable that delivers both AC power and the control signal on a single connector.

Will the R-series Faven power cord (used for R6 and R8 fixtures) work with Chroma 3.0?
