277V surge-protected power entry for Faven R Series under canopy LED installations.
The Faven 277V Power Cord with SPD (SKU 10-010503-001) is the code-compliant power entry solution for R6 and R8 under canopy LED systems running on 277V commercial lighting circuits. Each bundle includes the surge-protected power cord, an IP66-rated end cap, and a 10 ft / 3M single-end communication cable with low-voltage dimming wire — everything needed to commission the head of a daisy-chain run.
This SKU ships as a complete power-entry kit for a single Faven R Series daisy-chain: a 10 ft / 3M power cord with an integrated surge protection device (SPD), an IP66-rated end cap to seal the open tail of the last fixture in the run, and a single-end 10 ft / 3M communication cable. The low-voltage accessory dimming wire is included in the bundle, enabling 0–10V intensity control across all fixtures in the chain without sourcing additional wiring.
The 277V variant terminates in a NEMA L7 twist-lock plug — the standard locking connector for single-phase 277V lighting circuits found in large commercial cultivation facilities. The twist-lock engagement prevents accidental disconnection in a high-traffic grow room environment. Every daisy-chain run requires exactly one power cord at the head of the chain; extension (jumper) cables, sold separately, handle fixture-to-fixture links from there.
This cord is compatible with the Faven R6 and R8 under canopy LED bars — the 120W, 46-inch fixture line available in 60% red (R6) and 80% red (R8) spectrums. It is not compatible with the Faven Chroma series. At 277V, a single power cord can support a daisy-chain of up to 20 fixtures. If your bench layout exceeds that count, plan for a second power cord and split the run into two separate circuits.
The R6 is the standard choice for rooms running HPS or DE top lights, where the 60% red spectrum balances the ROY-heavy output from overhead HID. The R8 targets full-spectrum LED top light rooms and greenhouse applications, where 80% red supplementation closes the spectrum gap without overcorrecting. Either way, the power cord bundle and wiring architecture is identical — this SKU serves both fixture types at 277V.
The included low-voltage accessory dimming wire connects the daisy-chain to a Faven Mini Controller or compatible 0–10V dimming controller, including TrolMaster and Vivosun control systems. Once wired, intensity adjustments made at the controller propagate across every fixture in the chain simultaneously — no per-fixture configuration required.
Practical dimming use cases in a commercial flower room include ramping intensity up gradually at the start of a cycle to avoid light stress on transplants, and dialing back to 70–80% during the final two weeks of flower for genetics that respond to reduced under-canopy intensity late in the stage. The SPD built into the cord itself provides transient voltage protection at the point of entry — relevant in facilities that share electrical infrastructure across HVAC, pumps, and lighting loads on the same panel.
Each bench or cultivation zone requires at least one power cord at the start of its daisy-chain. To calculate fixture count per row, convert bench length to inches and divide by 46 (the fixture length). For a 14-foot bench with two rows of fixtures between plants, that works out to three fixtures per row, six fixtures total per bench — well within the 20-fixture ceiling for a single 277V cord.
If your facility's electrical infrastructure runs 120V or 240V circuits rather than 277V, Faven offers the same power cord bundle in those voltages (120V supports up to 10 fixtures per chain; 240V up to 17). Confirm your circuit voltage with your electrician before ordering; the NEMA connector type and daisy-chain maximums differ by voltage variant. Yes. This 277V power cord bundle is compatible with both the Faven R6 (60% red) and R8 (80% red) under canopy LED bars. It is not compatible with the Faven Chroma series.
At 277V, a single power cord supports up to 20 fixtures in a daisy-chain. If your bench layout exceeds 20 fixtures, you will need a second power cord to start a separate chain on its own circuit.
The integrated SPD protects the fixture chain from transient voltage spikes — relevant in commercial cultivation facilities where lighting, HVAC, and pump loads share electrical infrastructure. Having surge protection at the power-entry point rather than relying on a panel-level device keeps each daisy-chain independently protected.
Yes. The included low-voltage accessory dimming wire supports 0–10V control, which is compatible with TrolMaster and Vivosun dimming controllers. Intensity adjustments at the controller apply uniformly across all fixtures in the daisy-chain.
Each independent daisy-chain requires its own power cord at the head of the run. If your benches each have their own circuit and fixture count under 20, one cord per bench is the standard configuration. Fixtures within a bench chain are linked using Faven jumper/extension cables, sold separately.
