Bridge two TrolMaster controllers to a single device — one adapter, zero redundancy.
The TrolMaster DCC-2 Dual System Control Adapter connects a single grow-room device to two separate TrolMaster controllers simultaneously, giving that device the ability to respond to multiple environmental or safety conditions without requiring duplicate equipment. Designed for plug-in style module compatibility via built-in RJ12 cable.
The TrolMaster DCC-2 is a small, hardwired adapter that allows a single controlled device — exhaust fan, CO2 valve, dehumidifier, or other plug-in module output — to be simultaneously addressed by two independent TrolMaster controllers. Without it, each controller requires its own dedicated device. With it, one piece of physical equipment can respond to conditions set on both systems at the same time.
The most direct use case: an exhaust fan already managed by a Hydro-X climate controller for temperature and humidity can also be assigned to a Carbon-X CO2 alarm system for emergency purge. If CO2 levels exceed safe thresholds, the Carbon-X can trigger the same fan the Hydro-X already controls — no second fan, no parallel wiring, no relay workaround. The DCC-2 sits between the plug-in module and the RJ12 network, acting in concert with whichever controller triggers first.
Any licensed cultivation facility running TrolMaster's Hydro-X system alongside a Carbon-X CO2 alarm system will encounter the scenario the DCC-2 is built to solve. Supplemental CO2 is standard in commercial cannabis production; so are the state and local requirements for CO2 safety monitoring and emergency ventilation. When both systems need authority over the same exhaust equipment, the DCC-2 is the designed solution — not a workaround.
It's also relevant in any grow room where a single device serves two logical control roles. A timer-driven ventilation fan that must also respond to out-of-spec humidity, or a supplemental heater that's on a schedule but must also kick in on a temperature floor trigger, are both scenarios where the DCC-2 removes the need to purchase and wire a second device station. For operators building multi-zone rooms on a tight footprint, fewer devices per function is a real operational advantage.
The DCC-2 is designed specifically for use with TrolMaster's plug-in style device station modules: DSC-1 (CO2), DSH-1/2 (humidity), DST-1/2 (temperature), DSP-1 (program/timer), DSD-1 (dry contact), and DSV-1 (valve). It connects to the plug-in module via the RJ12 cable built directly into the DCC-2 unit. Once connected, the DCC-2 acts alongside that module to address output to both controllers on the network.
All TrolMaster sensors and control modules communicate over standard RJ12 cabling, daisy-chained or hub-connected via the SPH-1 splitter. The DCC-2 fits natively into that wiring architecture — no special converters, no custom firmware, no additional power supply beyond its 12V draw from the network. Installation is plug-and-play consistent with the rest of the Hydro-X and Carbon-X module ecosystem.
TrolMaster's modular architecture is built for expansion: the Hydro-X Pro supports up to 50 sensors and 50 separate control modules on a single controller, and the Carbon-X handles multi-zone CO2 monitoring for occupant safety. In facilities where both systems are deployed — which is the practical standard for any commercial cannabis operation running supplemental CO2 — the DCC-2 is the connection point that lets shared physical devices respect both control authorities.
Sourced through HSC's direct vendor account with TrolMaster, the DCC-2 is available as a standalone unit or as part of a larger control system build. If you're speccing a new room, retrofitting an existing Hydro-X installation to add Carbon-X compliance, or simply looking to consolidate devices, contact HSC for a quote and system-level guidance. The DCC-1 (Dual Condition Adaptor) allows a single device to respond to two different conditions within the same controller — for example, triggering an exhaust fan on either high temperature or high humidity. The DCC-2 (Dual System Control Adapter) connects one device to two separate TrolMaster controllers — for example, letting the same exhaust fan be commanded by both the Hydro-X climate system and the Carbon-X CO2 alarm system. They solve different problems; the DCC-2 is specifically about cross-controller integration.
Yes. The DCC-2 is compatible with both the original Hydro-X and the Hydro-X Pro (HCS-1/HCS-2), as well as the Carbon-X system. The Hydro-X Pro is backward-compatible with all current plug-in style modules, and the DCC-2 fits within that same RJ12 module architecture.
The DCC-2 is designed to work in combination with TrolMaster's plug-in style device station modules: DSC-1, DSH-1/2, DST-1/2, DSP-1, DSD-1, and DSV-1. Connect one of these modules to the DCC-2's built-in RJ12 cable, then connect the DCC-2 to each of the two controllers on your RJ12 network.
No separate power supply is needed. The DCC-2 draws 12V / 0.2A, powered through the TrolMaster RJ12 network — the same way other TrolMaster sensors and modules receive power. No additional wiring or wall adapters are required beyond the standard module installation.
Yes — this is the primary use case TrolMaster designed the DCC-2 to address. An exhaust fan assigned to the Hydro-X for climate management can simultaneously be addressed to the Carbon-X for emergency CO2 exhaust, with both systems able to trigger the device independently based on their respective setpoints and alarm conditions.
