Every plug-in device station in the TrolMaster Hydro-X system is designed to respond to a single control condition by default — temperature, humidity, CO2, a timer, or a setpoint. The DCC-1 Dual Condition Adapter changes that. It bridges two separate plug-in modules together so that one physical device can be governed by two conditions at once, without rewiring or adding a separate controller.
The adapter connects to a compatible plug-in module via its built-in RJ12 cable and then coordinates the logic between that module and a second one. The result is a single device — an exhaust fan, a CO2 solenoid, a chiller relay — that responds to the combined or individual states of both modules simultaneously. This is condition-stacking inside the existing Hydro-X architecture, not an add-on workaround.
The DCC-1's core feature is its Interlock switch, which selects between two fundamentally different trigger behaviors. Understanding which mode fits your use case is the starting point for configuring the adapter correctly.
Interlock OFF places the two modules in a parallel relationship: either condition alone is sufficient to activate the connected device. A common example is triggering exhaust fans when temperature exceeds the setpoint OR when relative humidity exceeds its setpoint — whichever trips first starts the fan. A second example: run exhaust during a recycling timer window OR whenever CO2 climbs above target. Any single condition firing is enough.
Interlock ON places the modules in a series relationship: both conditions must be satisfied simultaneously before the device activates. This is useful for safety-style interlocks — for instance, disabling a CO2 enrichment device only when exhaust fans are actively running, or cutting lighting power only if temperature AND a secondary condition are both outside acceptable ranges at the same time. Requiring two simultaneous triggers prevents nuisance shutdowns from a single transient event.
The DCC-1 is designed to pair with TrolMaster's plug-in style device stations: DSC-1 (CO2 device station), DSH-1 and DSH-2 (humidity device stations — 120V and 240V), DST-1 and DST-2 (temperature device stations — 120V and 240V), DSP-1 and DSP-2 (day/night setpoint modules), DSV-1, and DSD-1. The built-in RJ12 cable connects directly to the module's bus port with no additional cable required for the primary connection.
The DCC-1 is backward compatible across the Hydro-X platform, including the original HCS-1 and the HCS-2 Pro. It does not require any firmware update to the main controller — the logic is handled at the adapter level between the two modules. For operations already running TrolMaster infrastructure, the DCC-1 slots into the existing RJ12 bus topology without disrupting other connected stations or sensors.
In a licensed production environment, single-condition device control is often too coarse. Exhaust fans tied only to temperature may short-cycle during dry conditions; CO2 systems wired only to a timer can continue running while fans are actively purging the room — wasting enrichment and throwing off VPD targets. The DCC-1 closes these gaps without requiring a full controller upgrade.
