Controller Cabinet Door without pre-cut window for SCC-1, SCC-3

Solid blank door that converts SCC-1 or SCC-3 cabinets into a fully sealed enclosure.

The TrolMaster SCC-D is a solid, pre-cut-free replacement front door for the SCC-1 and SCC-3 25" controller cabinets. It closes out the front panel to create a sealed, IP56-rated enclosure — giving operators flexibility to mount any compatible TrolMaster controller internally on DIN rails rather than through the standard front cutout.

What the SCC-D Does

The SCC-D is a solid blank front door designed as a direct replacement for the standard pre-cut door on TrolMaster's SCC-1 (Hydro-X Pro / Aqua-X Pro) and SCC-3 (Hydro-X Plus / Aqua-X Plus) 25" controller cabinets. Where the stock door includes a factory cutout sized for specific controller face-mount, the SCC-D omits that opening entirely — converting the cabinet into a fully enclosed, sealed housing.

With the SCC-D installed, the cabinet's interior DIN rails become the primary mounting surface for the TrolMaster main controller. This is the correct configuration when you're running controllers such as the HCS-1, NFS-1, or CDA-1 on the inside of the enclosure rather than face-mounted through the door panel. The result is a cleaner, more protected installation without any open aperture in the front face.

Who Needs This Part

The SCC-D is a targeted replacement and expansion component — not a standalone product. It's relevant in two specific scenarios: first, when a facility is installing legacy TrolMaster controllers (HCS-1, NFS-1, CDA-1) that will clip onto the internal DIN rails rather than mount through a front cutout; second, when a multi-zone or high-density facility is adding a secondary SCC-1 or SCC-3 enclosure to expand module capacity for a Pro-tier system (HCS-2, NFS-2) at a secondary location.

Commercial cannabis and hemp operations running large footprints often outgrow a single controller cabinet's module count. Adding a second SCC-1 or SCC-3 with an SCC-D door is the correct approach for connecting additional device stations and modules to the Pro controllers without running a second primary controller.

Enclosure Integrity and IP56 Protection

The SCC cabinet line is rated IP56, equivalent to NEMA 4X — meaning the enclosure resists dust ingress and high-pressure water jets. That rating applies when the cabinet is properly sealed. The SCC-D's solid construction is what maintains that seal when no front-panel controller cutout is needed. Any opening in a grow room electrical enclosure is a potential ingress point for moisture, CO2 supplement, cleaning agents, and airborne particulates — all common in commercial cultivation environments.

The IP56 rating is only achievable with a properly fitted door and gasket. When using the standard pre-cut door with a controller installed, TrolMaster requires the controller rubber gasket to be fitted correctly between the controller body and the door frame. When using the SCC-D, that gasket step is removed because the door has no opening — the sealed front is inherently intact, simplifying the install and maintaining enclosure integrity without any additional sealing steps.

How the SCC-D Fits a Larger System Build

TrolMaster's SCC cabinet system is designed as a modular, scalable wire management and controller housing platform. The SCC-1, SCC-2, and SCC-3 cabinets can be used standalone or in combination as a facility's control system complexity grows. Adding the SCC-D turns any secondary SCC-1 or SCC-3 into a sealed expansion enclosure — useful when additional device stations, power supplies, or RJ12 cable routing need to be co-located in a different part of the facility without a second primary controller face-mount.

For operators scaling from single-room pilot to multi-room commercial production, planning the secondary enclosure correctly from the start prevents rework. The SCC-D is a low-cost component that resolves a real configuration gap — ordering it at the same time as the base cabinet and cabling is the correct sequencing for a clean install.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between the SCC-D and the standard SCC-1 or SCC-3 door?

The standard SCC-1 and SCC-3 cabinets ship with a front door that has a pre-cut opening sized for face-mounting the primary TrolMaster controller. The SCC-D replaces that door with a fully solid panel — no cutout — so the enclosure front is completely closed. This is used when the controller mounts internally on DIN rails rather than through the door face, or when the cabinet is used as a sealed secondary expansion enclosure.

Is the SCC-D compatible with the SCC-2 (35") cabinet?

No. The SCC-D is sized for the SCC-1 and SCC-3 cabinets, which share the 25" form factor. The SCC-2 (35" cabinet) has its own separate blank door, the SCC-D2. Make sure to match the door to the correct cabinet size before ordering.

When would I need an SCC-D in addition to my existing setup?

The most common use case is expanding a Pro-tier system (HCS-2 or NFS-2) at a secondary location in the facility. Adding a second SCC-1 or SCC-3 with an SCC-D door allows more device station modules to be connected and organized without requiring a second primary controller. It's also used when mounting an HCS-1, NFS-1, or CDA-1 controller on the internal DIN rails rather than through a front-panel cutout.

Does the SCC-D affect the IP56 enclosure rating?

The SCC cabinet system is rated IP56 (NEMA 4X equivalent) when properly sealed. The SCC-D, being a fully solid door with no openings, maintains that sealed front face without the additional gasket step required when a controller is face-mounted through a cutout. Proper door seating and latch engagement are still required to achieve the rated protection.

Do I need to order the SCC-1 or SCC-3 cabinet separately?

Yes. The SCC-D is a replacement/addition door only — it does not include a cabinet, cabling, splitter boards, or any other SCC system components. The SCC-1 and SCC-3 cabinets are sold separately. If you're building out a secondary enclosure, you'll need the base cabinet and the SCC-D door as separate line items.
