The Growlink canopyLINK is an 8-port sensor aggregation hub built for the Growlink LINKS ecosystem. It accepts up to eight SDI-12 compatible sensors — one per M8 port — and transmits all readings to Growlink OS as a single registered device. That matters at scale: instead of burning individual Hub ports on every sensor in a room, you consolidate an entire zone's sensor network through one canopyLINK, keeping your Hub ports available for other LINKS modules.
Compatible sensors include the Climalink climate sensor, Terralink and Terralink+ substrate sensors, Acclima TDR, ESM3, and TEROS 12 (some require an M8 adapter cable). Automatic sensor addressing means the hub detects and registers connected sensors on its own — no manual configuration per channel. The canopyLINK connects upstream to the Growlink ecosystem via your choice of wired RJ-45 (HUB Connection Port) or 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi. Wired is recommended for facilities where reliability is non-negotiable or where additional LINKS hardware requiring a HUB connection is already in use. Wi-Fi works well for standalone monitoring setups and situations where running cable is impractical.
Power input is 24 V DC via the included AC/DC adapter. The unit ships with a mounting kit and a 10 ft RJ-45 cable. Installation best practice per Growlink is to mount above the plant canopy and bench level to protect the M8 connectors and board from moisture — avoid positioning below misters, foggers, or humidifiers, and locate away from condensation zones. Sensor cables can be extended using Growlink's M8 extension cables where reach is a factor.
Once registered, the canopyLINK surfaces all connected sensor data in Growlink OS — the same platform managing lighting, climate, irrigation, and nutrient control in a LINKS-equipped facility. From there, operators can configure automation rules triggered by actual canopy readings: irrigation events based on live VWC and EC, climate adjustments off real-time VPD, or alerts when any parameter drifts out of spec.
Remote monitoring, firmware updates, and analytics are all handled through the Growlink app without requiring physical access to the device. No. The canopyLINK can connect directly to the Growlink platform over 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi without a HUB. A HUB is recommended if you want a wired, more fault-tolerant upstream connection or if you plan to add other LINKS modules that require a wired HUB connection.
Yes. The eight M8 ports accept any supported SDI-12 sensor — Climalink, Terralink, Terralink+, Acclima TDR, ESM3, TEROS 12 — in any combination across the available channels, up to eight total.
Not without an adapter. Older Terralink cables use a different connector. Current Terralink sensors for the LINKS system ship with an M8 connector and plug directly into the canopyLINK's M8 ports. Growlink offers M8 adapter cables for legacy sensors.
