Athena Renew is a specialized blend of acids, oxidizers, and chelators engineered specifically for between-run irrigation system hygiene in commercial cultivation. The formula combines etidronic acid (HEDP) — a powerful phosphonate chelator — with high-concentration food-grade hydrogen peroxide. HEDP targets and binds the calcium, magnesium, and iron mineral deposits that accumulate on emitter orifices, filter screens, manifold walls, and supply lines over the course of a run. The hydrogen peroxide component simultaneously oxidizes and breaks apart biofilm colonies and inanimate organic particulate that acid alone cannot fully address.

After soaking, open flush valves at the end of the drip lines and drain. A secondary pass at 1–2 fl oz per gallon is then run through all emitters to clear the dripper orifices. The system is then flushed and followed with a disinfectant step — Athena's protocol pairs Renew with Athena Reset for complete pathogen kill before replanting.

Renew is compatible with Dosatron-style injection systems that can handle oxidizers, provided the unit is equipped with appropriate seals (Viton or Aflas). Venturi-based dosing systems are not compatible and should be bypassed — Renew must be hand-mixed into the reservoir in those setups.
