Nitrogen-free late-flower finisher that feeds calcium and microelements through the final ripening window.
Athena Fade is a liquid nitrogen-free finishing formula designed to replace Pro Core during the last 2–3 weeks of flower — stripping residual nitrogen while continuing to deliver calcium and essential microelements so plants don't starve at the finish line. Part of the Athena Pro Line, formulated for commercial-scale cultivation.
Athena Fade is a concentrated liquid finishing formula within the Athena Pro Line — the dry-and-liquid commercial nutrient system widely adopted by large-scale licensed cannabis operations. Fade is purpose-built for the final stage of the flowering cycle, where nitrogen removal is the objective but plant starvation is the risk. It contains zero nitrogen, which allows chlorophyll to degrade naturally as the plant completes its life cycle, while still supplying the calcium and microelements classified as immobile nutrients — elements the plant cannot translocate from older tissue and must receive continuously via the root zone.
Fade is a liquid concentrate sized at one gallon (SKU: PRO-FD-1G). It is formulated at the same dilution rate as Athena Pro Core (2 lb per gallon concentrate equivalent), which means it slots directly into an existing Pro Line feed schedule without recalibrating stock tanks or dosing equipment. Where Pro Core runs throughout veg and flower, Fade replaces it in the final 2–3 weeks, paired alongside Pro Bloom to complete the finishing stack.
Excess nitrogen in late flower is a documented inhibitor of crop maturation. Nitrogen keeps plants in a vegetative-dominant metabolic state — producing chlorophyll and green tissue — when the goal in the final weeks is the opposite: senescence, terpene accumulation, and full expression of the flower's genetic potential. Tapering or removing nitrogen at this stage encourages the plant to complete its life cycle, which correlates with increased production of terpenes and other desirable secondary metabolites.
The problem with a hard flush using plain water is that it strips calcium and microelements along with nitrogen. Calcium is an immobile nutrient; deficient plants lose cell wall integrity, which significantly increases susceptibility to botrytis (bud rot) — the worst possible outcome in the last two weeks before harvest. Fade resolves this conflict: it removes the nitrogen load while continuing to supply calcium and microelements at maintenance levels. Athena's internal testing found that running Fade alongside Pro Bloom in the final three weeks increased total cannabinoid and terpene production without increasing deficiency or bud rot risk.
Fade is designed for licensed cannabis and hemp operators running the Athena Pro Line at commercial scale — facilities with fertigation infrastructure (Dosatron, Netafim, Rhythm, or comparable systems) that are already mixing stock tank concentrates. If your operation runs Pro Core and Pro Bloom through flower, Fade is a direct swap: at the start of your finishing window, pull Pro Core out of the reservoir stack and sub in Fade at the same dosage position. No new equipment, no additional feed line.
It also functions as a supplemental calcium source for operations that need to dial up Ca delivery in coco or rockwool during ripening without adding nitrogen back into the program. For multi-site operators managing standardized SOPs across rooms or facilities, Fade's drop-in compatibility with the existing Pro Line program means the finishing protocol can be documented and replicated consistently run to run.
Dose Fade at 10–16 mL per gallon of water, replacing Pro Core in the final 2–3 weeks of the flowering phase. Continue running Pro Bloom alongside Fade at your standard rate throughout this window. Consult the Athena Pro Line feed schedule for EC targets specific to your crop stage — monitor EC regularly and adjust based on plant response and grow medium. Shake the container thoroughly before measuring. Use clean, dedicated measuring instruments and do not introduce anything into the bottle.
Do not combine Fade with other concentrates in undiluted form. Adjust pH to target levels after all fertilizers and additives are mixed into the reservoir. Store in original packaging, sealed, at temperatures between 45°F and 85°F. As with all Athena Pro Line products, consistency in measurement and EC monitoring is the foundation of predictable results across successive runs.

Fade replaces Pro Core. You continue running Pro Bloom at your normal rate through the final 2–3 weeks. Fade slots into the same dosage position as Pro Core in the stock tank, so your Pro Bloom rate does not change. The switch is: pull Core, add Fade, keep Bloom.
That's the problem Fade was designed to solve. A plain-water flush strips calcium and microelements — both immobile nutrients — along with nitrogen, leaving plants vulnerable to deficiency and bud rot right before harvest. Fade removes nitrogen while continuing to deliver calcium and microelements, so plants can complete ripening without starvation stress or increased botrytis risk.
Athena recommends starting Fade in the final 2–3 weeks of the flowering phase. The exact week will depend on your cultivar's finish time. Refer to the current Athena Pro Line feed schedule for week-by-week EC targets aligned to your specific program. Monitoring runoff EC and plant tissue response will help you fine-tune the transition point.
Fade's formulation is designed around the Athena Pro Line program, and Athena's testing was conducted with Pro Bloom as the concurrent base feed. It can function as a nitrogen-free calcium and microelement supplement in other programs, but EC targets, dosing compatibility, and finish-window timing should be validated independently if pairing with non-Athena base nutrients.
