Athena Blended Grow B

Phosphorus- and potassium-forward veg partner — pairs 1:1 with Grow A to close the vegetative mineral profile.

Athena Blended Grow B (NPK 1-3-5) is the phosphorus- and potassium-rich companion to Grow A in Athena's two-part liquid vegetative program. Run it in equal volumes with Grow A across your entire veg phase — no dry salts, no separate micro pack, no guesswork on ratios.

What It Is

Athena Blended Grow B is the phosphorus- and potassium-forward half of Athena's two-part liquid vegetative base. Its NPK of 1-3-5 is engineered to complement Grow A (4-0-1) — when mixed in equal volumes, the two parts together deliver a complete, balanced vegetative mineral profile including macronutrients, chelated micronutrients, and additional nitrogen for dense foliar development.

The formula is fully liquid-soluble and sediment-free, with no dry salts to weigh or dissolve. Ingredients include Monopotassium Phosphate, Potassium Nitrate, Monoammonium Phosphate, Magnesium Sulfate, and Copper EDTA — a clean, mineral-only stack with no organic sludge that could compromise system hygiene or plug emitters.

Athena was founded in Los Angeles in 2017 by professional cultivators and has become one of the most widely adopted nutrient programs in licensed commercial indoor growing, built on the principle that fewer, better-formulated parts produce more repeatable results than complex multi-additive programs.

Who It's For

Grow B in the 275-gallon tote format is sized for licensed commercial and craft-commercial cannabis and hemp operators running continuous veg cycles, multi-room facilities, or high-plant-count production where bulk liquid handling is more efficient than rotating through gallons or five-gallon jugs.

The Blended Line overall is the right fit for operations that want the Athena nutrient program in liquid form — particularly those running recirculating hydroponic systems, coco coir under automated fertigation, or any setup where reservoir consistency and system cleanliness are priorities. It is also fully workable with rockwool, peat/soilless mixes, DWC, and soil.

If your facility already runs Dosatrons, proportioner heads, or automated dosing skids, Grow B's wide application range (2–15 mL per gallon) gives you room to dial seedling, clone, and mature veg canopies from the same stock solution without switching products mid-stage.

Key Features

Sediment-free, fully soluble formula: Grow B dissolves completely in all water types with no buildup, residue, or line clogging — including fine dripper heads and narrow-gauge emitters. This keeps reservoirs, irrigation lines, and dosing equipment clean between cycles and reduces maintenance downtime.

Stable pH throughout veg: The Blended Line is formulated to maintain pH stability across the vegetative phase, reducing the frequency of manual pH correction when the system is properly buffered and monitored.

System-agnostic compatibility: Works with recirculating systems, drip-to-waste, hand watering, Dosatron injection, automated fertigation skids, NFT, aeroponic, and DWC setups. Media compatibility includes coco coir, rockwool, peat/soilless, and soil.

Chelated micronutrients: The inclusion of chelated trace elements (Copper EDTA) improves mineral availability across a wider pH range compared to non-chelated mineral salts, which matters especially in higher-EC veg environments or with harder source water.

How It Fits a Commercial Build

Grow B is used alongside Grow A at a 1:1 ratio throughout the vegetative growth phase. Athena publishes a Blended Line feed schedule with stage-specific EC targets — seedling through late veg — so your team can reference a single document rather than building a program from scratch. EC monitoring and adjustment remain the primary dialing mechanism, with dosing starting as low as 2 mL/gal for early propagation and scaling up to 15 mL/gal for heavy veg demand.

At transition to flower, Grow A and Grow B are replaced by Bloom A and Bloom B — the same two-part structure with a flowering-stage mineral ratio. Optional Blended Line additions include PK (0-4-5) mid-to-late flower, CaMg (2-0-0) for RO or inert-media grows, Balance for pH stabilization, and Cleanse for system maintenance.

The 275-gallon tote SKU (LQB-GWB-275G) is the highest-volume format available for Grow B, appropriate for facilities with bulk liquid storage, tote-compatible pumping systems, or high weekly nutrient draw. Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use Grow B without Grow A?

No. Grow B is formulated to work alongside Grow A at a 1:1 ratio. Grow A (4-0-1) supplies the calcium, nitrogen, and chelated iron and micronutrients that Grow B does not contain. Running only one part will produce an incomplete, imbalanced mineral profile. Always mix equal volumes of A and B, add them separately to your reservoir — never combine undiluted.

Is Grow B compatible with Dosatron or automated dosing systems?

Yes. The Blended Line is formulated to be compatible with all dosing and irrigation equipment, including Dosatrons, proportioner heads, fine dripper heads, and automated fertigation skids. The sediment-free, fully soluble formula will not clog emitters or dosing lines under normal operating conditions.

What media and systems does the Blended Line work with?

Grow B works across coco coir, rockwool, DWC and recirculating hydroponic systems, peat/soilless mixes, and soil. It is particularly well-suited to recirculating systems due to its clean, sediment-free formulation, but is fully compatible with drip-to-waste, hand watering, and NFT as well.

How is the Blended Line different from Athena's Pro Line?

The Blended Line is a liquid two-part system — no dry salts, no weighing. The Pro Line is a dry, water-soluble concentrate system designed for large-volume commercial mixing tanks that can handle bulk powder handling. Both use Athena's same mineral philosophy and EC-based dosing structure, but the Blended Line is simpler to implement for operations that prefer liquid handling or don't have bulk dry-mixing infrastructure.

Do I need to add a separate CalMag when running Grow B?

It depends on your source water and growing media. Athena offers Blended CaMg (2-0-0) as an optional supplement, and it is commonly added when growing in coco coir or rockwool with reverse osmosis water, where calcium and magnesium levels in source water are near zero. With harder tap water or in soil, supplemental CaMg may not be necessary — monitor your feed EC and plant tissue response and adjust accordingly.
