What Bloom B Is and How It Works

Athena Blended Bloom B is one half of a two-part liquid flowering base nutrient. Part A (NPK 4-0-5) supplies calcium, nitrogen, and the full chelated micronutrient package — iron as EDTA and EDDHA, zinc EDTA, manganese EDTA, sodium molybdate, boric acid, and magnesium nitrate. Part B (NPK 0.7-6-5) handles the phosphorus and potassium demand of the flowering stage, built from monopotassium phosphate, potassium nitrate, monoammonium phosphate, magnesium sulfate, and copper EDTA. The two-part split exists for a straightforward chemistry reason: calcium cannot be concentrated in the same bottle as phosphates and sulfates without precipitation. Keeping them separate maintains stability in concentrated form; they combine correctly once diluted into your reservoir or fertigation line.

Used together in equal volumes, Bloom A and Bloom B deliver the macro and micro mineral ratios Athena has calibrated for the flowering stage. The formulas are sediment-free and are engineered to pass through fine dripper heads, inline dosing injectors, and recirculating system components without buildup or residue. A two-year shelf life from manufacturing date applies when the product is stored sealed in its original container within the recommended temperature band.

Who This Program Is Built For

The Athena Blended Line targets licensed cannabis and hemp cultivators who want a repeatable, liquid-based nutrient program without the weighing and dissolution steps that come with a dry concentrate system. It is a practical choice for operations that run automated Dosatron or inline dosing systems where liquid concentrates simplify recipe management, for multi-site groups that want consistent batches across rooms, and for teams where reducing preparation variables is a quality-control priority.

The Blended Line shares the same underlying nutrient chemistry as the Athena Pro Line — the difference is form factor. Pro Line is a dry concentrate best suited to large-scale commercial operations mixing high-volume reservoirs where cost-per-gallon of finished solution is the primary driver. The Blended Line trades some of that cost efficiency for handling convenience and faster tank prep. Both programs are EC-based and follow published Athena feed schedules that scale from propagation through late flower.

System and Media Compatibility

Athena Blended Bloom B is formulated to work across grow methods and substrate types. Confirmed compatible media include rockwool, coco coir, peat-based and soilless mixes, and soil. On the irrigation side, it runs through recirculating and DWC hydroponic systems, drip irrigation with fine emitters, Dosatron and similar proportional dosers, and hand-watering programs. The sediment-free formulation is a specific engineering decision — fine dripper heads and Dosatron internals are protected by the clean liquid chemistry.

Small amounts of micro-particles can occasionally be visible depending on storage conditions; Athena states this does not affect mineral balance or system compatibility. Best practice is to shake well before use, measure with clean instruments, never pour concentrates directly together undiluted, and always adjust pH after mixing all nutrients and additives into the final solution. Monitor runoff EC throughout the flowering cycle and adjust dose rate within the 2–7 mL per gallon range based on plant response and growth stage.

Running Bloom B in the Flowering Program

Bloom B runs alongside Bloom A from the onset of flowering through pre-harvest. Both parts are dosed at equal volumes — whatever rate you set for Bloom A, Bloom B matches it. The published Athena Blended feed schedule specifies week-by-week EC and pH targets across a 13-week program covering propagation, veg, flower, and finish. Bloom B dose rate ranges from 2 mL/gal in early flower to 7 mL/gal at peak flower weeks, tapering into the finish phase. The schedule also integrates Athena supplemental products — CaMg for RO-water or inert-media corrective calcium and magnesium, PK booster from week three of flower onward, Cleanse for irrigation-line maintenance, and Fade for the late-flower finish window.
