What the DSR-1 Is

The TrolMaster DSR-1 is a high-current relay device station that slots into the modular TrolMaster ecosystem as a controllable output point for loads up to 25 amps across a 100–277V range. Where standard device stations top out at 10A on 120V, the DSR-1 handles the heavier equipment loads common in commercial builds — dehumidifiers, contactors, fans, CO₂ solenoids, and lighting circuits — without requiring a separate relay panel.

It connects via RJ12 to the Devices port on compatible TrolMaster controllers and is addressed and assigned a function through the controller's interface. No custom wiring harnesses, no proprietary connectors outside the standard TrolMaster RJ12 topology. Plug in, address the station, assign a mode, and the controller owns that load.

Who It's For

The DSR-1 is the right station when you need the controller to switch a load that exceeds the 10A capacity of a standard device station, or when you're running 240V or 277V equipment — voltage ranges unsupported by the lower-tier stations. Commercial cultivation facilities running double-ended HID lighting contactors, high-amperage dehumidifiers, or multi-ton HVAC units benefit most from this module.

Facilities that have already standardized on TrolMaster controllers (Hydro-X, Hydro-X Pro, Aqua-X, Carbon-X, or Green-X) and are expanding room count or device count will reach for the DSR-1 when their existing device stations can't handle the amperage or voltage of new equipment being added to the build.

The DSR-1 supports four configurable operating modes — temperature (DST), humidity (DSH), CO₂ (DSC), and timer/program (DSP) — so a single SKU covers the full range of environmental triggers a room requires. Assignment is done at the controller level, not at the hardware level, meaning you can reconfigure an installed station without swapping the unit.

Built-in overload protection guards connected equipment from current spikes. A local override function lets facilities staff manually toggle the relay at the station without going into the controller interface — useful during maintenance windows or sensor calibration. A local alarm activates on relay contact adhesion, flagging a stuck relay before it causes an equipment run-on event. Plug-and-play addressing over RJ12 means no dipswitches, no configuration jumpers.

How It Fits a Commercial Build

In a TrolMaster-based grow room, the DSR-1 lives on the Devices bus alongside lower-amperage DS modules and sensor stations. A typical multi-room facility might run one DSR-1 per room to handle the dehumidifier contactor or a 240V lighting circuit, with standard DSP or DSH stations covering lower-current supplemental loads on the same controller.

Because the DSR-1 covers 100–277V at 25A, it operates cleanly on both the 120V and 208/240/277V circuits standard in commercial cultivation spaces — no step-down transformers required. This makes it equally applicable to purpose-built licensed cannabis facilities and converted industrial buildings where panel voltage varies room to room.
