What the DSP-2 Is

The TrolMaster DSP-2 is a single-outlet, 240V program device station — effectively a smart, addressable timer relay that lives on the TrolMaster RJ12 bus alongside your other Hydro-X or Aqua-X modules. Any 240V load at or under 10 amps plugs into the DSP-2, and the Hydro-X controller takes over scheduling: specific on/off times of day, recycling timer cycles with or without a cycle limit, or automatic pump activation triggered by irrigation zone events on the Aqua-X.

Where a standard mechanical timer gives you a fixed on/off window, the DSP-2 is software-programmable through the Hydro-X interface — adjustable from the controller or remotely through the TrolMaster app — and its schedule updates propagate immediately without touching the module itself. That matters in a commercial environment where light schedules, fertigation cycles, and supplemental CO2 timing get revised regularly across a season.

The DSP-2 is the right module for licensed cannabis and hemp operators running TrolMaster Hydro-X or Aqua-X as their room controller and needing clean, centralized timer control over 240V ancillary equipment: DE HPS ballasts without a built-in lighting adapter interface, supplemental CO2 generators, 240V exhaust or recirculation fans, water pumps, UV sterilizers, or any other load that runs on a schedule rather than a sensor setpoint.

Because DSP-2 units are individually addressed on the RJ12 bus, a single controller can manage up to 9 program device stations (Hydro-X), 12 (Hydro-X Plus), allowing a build-out of addressable timer circuits without running separate timer hardware per device. The Aqua-X pairing adds master pump functionality: plug a main feed pump into the DSP-2 and it auto-activates whenever any 24VAC irrigation zone fires.

Daisy-chaining via RJ12 T-splitters keeps cable management clean and the bus expandable; the included 16ft and 4ft RJ12 cables plus T-splitter cover most standard room layouts out of the box.
