The TrolMaster ECS-4 is a 16ft (4.88m) communication extension cable purpose-built for the AMP-2 sensor board, adding distance between the sensor board and the Aqua-X NFS-1 main controller without additional configuration. Male-to-female terminations allow a straight, clean in-line extension in any Aqua-X build.
The ECS-4 is a single-purpose communication extension cable designed exclusively for use with the TrolMaster AMP-2 sensor board. Its job is straightforward: it extends the physical distance between the AMP-2 and the Aqua-X NFS-1 main controller when the included 2.5-meter signal cable shipped with the AMP-2 isn't long enough to reach your controller location.
The cable carries the sensor communication signal from the AMP-2 — which interfaces with your pH probe (PPH-1/PPH-2) and EC/temperature probe (PCT-1/PCT-2) — back to the NFS-1 controller so that pH, EC, and water temperature data continue to display on the controller LCD and within the TrolMaster app. No signal converters, no configuration, no firmware changes required.
In a standard Aqua-X installation, the NFS-1 controller is often wall-mounted in a utility corridor or mechanical room, while the AMP-2 sensor board is positioned close to the reservoir or inline sample point where the probes are submerged. In larger grow facilities — multi-room builds, facilities with long reservoir runs, or setups where the controller cabinet is centralized away from the water source — the default 2.5-meter cable that ships with the AMP-2 falls short.
The ECS-4 is the clean solution. Run it between the AMP-2 and the NFS-1, and the system continues to log and alert on pH, EC, and water temperature exactly as designed. The Aqua-X NFS-1 supports one AMP-2 per controller set, and the ECS-4 ensures that single board can be mounted where the probes actually need to live, not where it's convenient for cable length.
The ECS-4 is specific to the AMP-2 sensor board used within the TrolMaster Aqua-X irrigation control ecosystem. The AMP-2 is the module that bridges precision pH and EC/temperature probes to the NFS-1 controller, enabling continuous water quality monitoring and 24/7 out-of-limits alerts. It is compatible with the PCT-1 reservoir EC/temperature sensor, the PCT-2 heavy-duty inline EC/temperature sensor, the PPH-1 reservoir pH sensor, and the PPH-2 inline pH sensor.
The Aqua-X platform is a modular, daisy-chainable system capable of controlling up to 30 irrigation zones. The ECS-4 does not affect or interact with control board modules (OA6-24, OA6-110) or the DSP-1 program device station — it is strictly an AMP-2 signal extension and should not be substituted for other TrolMaster communication cables in the lineup.
Installation is plug-and-play. Connect the female end to the AMP-2 output and the male end toward the NFS-1 controller port. No tools required beyond cable management hardware you would use for any other signal run. The cable is rated for operating environments up to 122°F and up to 90% relative humidity, making it suitable for the warm, humid conditions common inside sealed and semi-sealed commercial grow rooms.
For operators running multiple Aqua-X NFS-1 units across separate grow zones, note that each NFS-1 supports a maximum of one AMP-2 sensor board. If you are extending that single board's cable run on each controller unit, plan for one ECS-4 per NFS-1 where the reach is needed. Keep signal cable runs tidy and away from high-voltage power runs where possible to avoid interference on the communication line.

The ECS-4 is designed specifically for the AMP-2 sensor board, which is a module exclusive to the Aqua-X (NFS-1) irrigation control system. The Hydro-X environmental controller line uses a different module ecosystem. Verify your controller model before ordering.
The ECS-4 is sold separately. The AMP-2 ships with a 2.5-meter signal cable included. The ECS-4 is a supplemental extension cable for installations where that included cable length is insufficient.
No. The ECS-4 extends the signal between the AMP-2 sensor board and the NFS-1 controller — it is not a probe cable. The probes (PCT-1/2 and PPH-1/2) connect directly to the AMP-2 board via their own dedicated ports and cables.
One ECS-4 per Aqua-X NFS-1 controller unit where the AMP-2 board needs to be mounted farther than the included 2.5-meter cable allows. Since the NFS-1 supports a maximum of one AMP-2 per controller set, you will not need more than one ECS-4 per NFS-1.
