What the OAT-24 Is

The TrolMaster OAT-24 is a dedicated expansion module for the Aqua-X Pro irrigation control system. It provides 12 individually addressed 24VAC output channels, each capable of driving a standard 24-volt irrigation solenoid valve. Compatible with TrolMaster's NFS-2 and NFS-3 controllers, the board connects via RJ12 cable — the same plug-and-daisy-chain architecture that runs throughout the TrolMaster ecosystem.

Each channel operates independently, so zones can be running different feed programs simultaneously. The module accepts universal input voltage (100–240V, 50/60Hz), making it straightforward to integrate into any facility's existing electrical infrastructure without additional step-down hardware.

Important wiring note: when more than one OAT-24 is connected to the NFS controller, do not share a common wire between units. Each OAT-24 must use its own dedicated common to maintain correct valve switching and protect the board.

The OAT-24 plugs directly into the TrolMaster Aqua-X Pro ecosystem via the included 16 ft RJ12 cable. The 13-pin Phoenix-type connector interfaces with your solenoid field wiring, and the board's universal AC input means placement near your valve manifold — rather than near a specific outlet type — is feasible in most equipment rooms.

From a system design standpoint, operators typically spec one OAT-24 per 12-valve manifold or zone cluster. For a facility with 48 irrigation zones, that's four OAT-24 boards running off one NFS-2 or NFS-3 controller — centralized logic, distributed valve actuation. The module handles temperatures from 32–122°F (0–50°C) at up to 90% relative humidity, making it viable for greenhouse and controlled-environment applications alike.
